AI agent that triages charge risk and drafts a response
For each successful Stripe charge, an AI Agent summarises the payment, flags possible dispute or fraud risk and writes an internal note with next steps for finance, then the charge is logged in Google Sheets.

What this workflow does
Disputes are cheaper to prevent than to fight. A finance team that hears about an odd payment early can contact the customer, hold a shipment or prepare evidence. This workflow puts a short risk summary in front of that team for every charge, written by an AI Agent in plain language.
The Stripe New Charge trigger runs when a charge succeeds and passes the amount, the customer's email and the charge description. The AI Agent acts as a payments risk analyst. It is told to summarise the charge, flag any dispute or fraud risk and draft a concise internal note recommending next steps. It has two tools to choose from: Slack's Send Channel Message, for posting the note to finance, and ClickUp's Create Task, meant for opening a review task when the charge looks risky.
After the agent, a Google Sheets step adds a row for the charge, so you keep a ledger of every payment reviewed. That step has no columns mapped yet. The agent judges from three values only, so treat its note as a reason to look closer, not a verdict.
Online store with high-value orders
Large card payments get a written risk summary in the finance channel, and any the agent calls risky become ClickUp tasks someone has to close.
Digital product seller
Before granting access to a paid download, the team reads a short note on each charge and can hold back anything that looks off.
Service business taking deposits
Each deposit is summarised for the bookkeeper and logged in the sheet, giving a single record of payments with the agent's view next to them.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Stripe New ChargeStarts a run when a Stripe charge succeeds. The amount, customer email and description go to the AI Agent, as the sample charge shows.
AI Agent Execute AgentThe AI Agent summarises the charge, flags dispute or fraud risk and drafts an internal note with recommended next steps. GPT-4o from OpenAI is selected; connect your provider when you import.
Slack Send Channel MessageThe agent's tool for sending the risk note to finance in Slack. The agent writes the message. Connect Slack and use a test run to confirm which channel it reaches.
ClickUp Create TaskThe agent's tool for opening a review task in ClickUp when it sees risk. It writes the task name and description. Check in a test run where the task is created.
Google Sheets Add New RowAdds a row to Google Sheets for each charge after the agent step. Map the amount, email, description and, if you like, the agent's response into the row.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Stripe AccountAccount
- AI ProviderAccount
- Slack AccountAccount
- ClickUp AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Give the agent your own warning signs in its instructions, such as amounts far above your usual order or free email domains on business plans, so its notes reflect your business.
- Add a Filter before the agent so only charges above a set amount are reviewed. Small payments then skip the agent and save AI usage.
- Map the agent's response into the Google Sheets row, so the ledger holds the risk note next to each payment.
Questions about this workflow
Does this stop or refund a Stripe charge?
No. The trigger runs after the charge has succeeded, and none of the steps change it in Stripe. Any refund or hold is a decision for your team.
Will a ClickUp task be opened for every charge?
Not necessarily. The agent is told to use the ClickUp tool for risky charges and chooses when to call it, so check a few test runs to see how it decides.
How are Stripe amounts shown to the agent?
As Stripe sends them, which is the smallest currency unit, so 1299 means 12.99 in USD. Mention this in the agent's instructions so the note reads correctly.
Which Stripe event starts a run?
A successful charge on the connected Stripe account. Failed charges and disputes opened later do not start this workflow.
