Add a row to Google Sheets when a webhook is received from Flowlu

Every webhook Flowlu sends for the event category you choose, such as Tasks or CRM, becomes a new row in your Google Sheets spreadsheet, giving you a running log outside Flowlu.

The Add a row to Google Sheets when a webhook is received from Flowlu workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Flowlu, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Flowlu holds your tasks, deals, projects and invoices, but a spreadsheet is often where people filter, chart or share that activity. This workflow writes each Flowlu webhook into Google Sheets, so you get a plain record of what happened in Flowlu without exporting reports.

The Flowlu trigger gives you a webhook URL to add in Flowlu. FlowMattic describes it as firing on event categories: Tasks, CRM, Projects, Finance, Files, Calendar, Products, Agile and Knowledge Base. Flowlu then sends a webhook for the activity in the category you pick, which can include new, changed and removed items, and each one starts a run.

The Google Sheets step adds one row per webhook. It ships unmapped: after import you choose the spreadsheet and sheet, and match values from the Flowlu payload to your column headers. Send a test event from Flowlu first, so you can see in FlowMattic which fields arrive and pick the ones worth a column.

Because every event in the category adds a row, the sheet works best as an activity log. Include a column for the event type or timestamp if Flowlu sends one, so you can sort the rows later.

Task activity log for a project team

A team lead connects the Tasks category and keeps a sheet of every task event, which they filter by assignee in weekly reviews.

CRM changes for a sales report

A sales manager sends Flowlu's CRM webhooks to a sheet and builds a pivot table of activity per account each month.

Finance events for the bookkeeper

An agency points the Finance category at a shared spreadsheet, so the bookkeeper can review invoice activity without a Flowlu login.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Flowlu Configure Webhook

Receives the webhook Flowlu sends for the event category you configure, such as Tasks, CRM or Finance. Each webhook starts a run, and its data is available to map into the sheet.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Writes each Flowlu webhook as one fresh line in your chosen sheet. No columns are mapped in the template, so connect your Google account and match the Flowlu fields to your headers.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Flowlu AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • To log only one kind of event, such as newly created tasks, put a Filter between the Flowlu trigger and the Google Sheets step that checks the event value in the payload. A test webhook shows which field holds it.
  • Add a header row to the sheet before you map the Google Sheets step, so each Flowlu field has a named column to go into.
  • Use one workflow per Flowlu category and a separate sheet tab for each, so task events and CRM events don't mix in one table.

Questions about this workflow

Which Flowlu events add a row to Google Sheets?

All the webhooks Flowlu sends for the category you set up, which can cover new, updated and deleted items. Add a Filter between the Flowlu trigger and the Google Sheets step if you only want some of them.

Will a changed Flowlu task update its existing row?

No. Each webhook adds a new row, so a task that changes three times appears three times. That keeps a full history in the sheet.

How do I know which Flowlu fields I can map?

Send a test event from Flowlu after adding the webhook URL. FlowMattic shows the received data, and you pick from those fields when mapping the Add New Row step.
