Log each new Copecart payment in a Google Sheets spreadsheet

Every payment Copecart receives is written to a new row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, with the buyer, product and amount fields you map, so you keep your own sales log outside the Copecart dashboard.

Copecart Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 3.3k sites Free to import

The Log each new Copecart payment in a Google Sheets spreadsheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Copecart, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Copecart handles checkout and payment for your digital products, but its reports aren't always where your accountant, partner or affiliate manager looks. A spreadsheet with one row per payment is easy to share, filter and total. This workflow keeps that sheet filled as payments come in.

The Copecart trigger Instant Payment Notification fires when Copecart receives a payment and passes the payment data to FlowMattic. The Google Sheets step then runs Add New Row. You choose the spreadsheet and match each column to a Copecart field, such as the buyer's email, the product and the amount paid.

Each payment notification adds its own row, and the workflow never edits rows it has written. Make a test purchase after import so FlowMattic captures the payment fields for mapping. Task History lists every run, which helps if a row looks wrong.

Course creator tracking sales

Every course sale through Copecart adds a row, and a pivot table in the same spreadsheet shows sales per course each month.

Sharing numbers with a business partner

Your partner doesn't log in to Copecart but can open a shared Google Sheet that lists every payment with its amount and product.

Checking affiliate commissions

With the payment rows in one sheet, you can compare them against your affiliate reports before paying out.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Copecart Instant Payment Notification

Fires when Copecart receives a payment. The data from that payment notification, such as buyer details, product and amount, can be placed in the spreadsheet columns.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Writes one new row to your selected Google Sheets spreadsheet for each payment. Match each column to a Copecart field and connect your Google account on import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Copecart AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a column for the date the row was written, so you can sort payments by when they arrived and spot gaps.
  • If some products should be logged separately, add a Filter on the product field and duplicate the workflow with a second sheet for the other products.
  • Add an email or Slack step after the sheet row if you also want a short note each time a payment comes in.

Questions about this workflow

Will past Copecart payments be added to the spreadsheet?

No. Only payments received after the workflow is active reach the sheet. Export earlier ones from Copecart if you need a full history.

Which Copecart details can I put in the Google Sheet?

Any field in the payment notification. Make a test payment after import to see the full list, then map the ones you want into columns.

Does a Copecart refund change the row?

No. This workflow adds rows when payments arrive and never edits them. Record refunds in the sheet yourself.

Can several people view the payment log?

Yes. The rows go into an ordinary Google Sheets file, so share it with whoever needs to see the payments, with view-only access if you prefer.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.

Ease of use and terrific support from the founder. Tons of integrations and regular updates. The Flowmattic custom app is great especially if you want to integrate apps that aren't available yet inside Flowmattic.
