When New Submission in Getform, Create or Update Contact in ActiveCampaign
Each new Getform submission becomes an ActiveCampaign contact, or updates the contact who is already there, so leads from your forms reach your email marketing without copying them over by hand.

What this workflow does
Getform collects form data for sites that have no backend of their own, such as static pages and landing pages. The entries sit in your Getform dashboard until someone moves them. If your follow-up emails run from ActiveCampaign, every lead you leave in Getform is a lead nobody writes to. This workflow moves each one across when it arrives.
The Getform trigger fires when a new submission is received. FlowMattic hands the submitted fields to ActiveCampaign, where the Create or Update Contact action adds a new contact or updates an existing one. You choose which form fields fill the email address, name and any other contact details the step offers.
Nothing else happens in between, so every submission reaches ActiveCampaign. Each run is listed in Task History with the data sent and the response returned, which is where you look if a contact does not appear.
Landing page lead capture
A static landing page posts its sign-up form to Getform. Each visitor who fills it in shows up as an ActiveCampaign contact, ready for the automations you run there.
Repeat enquiries from known contacts
A customer who already exists in ActiveCampaign writes in again through your Getform contact form. Their contact record is updated with the new details instead of left as it was.
Gated content downloads
Visitors give their email in a Getform form to get a checklist or guide. Their details land in ActiveCampaign so you can send the download link and later emails from there.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Getform New SubmissionFires when Getform receives a new submission on the form you connect. The submitted fields are passed on so you can map them in the ActiveCampaign step.
ActiveCampaign Create or Update ContactCreates a contact in ActiveCampaign from the submission, or updates the contact if they already exist. Map the form's email field and any name fields, then connect your ActiveCampaign account.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Getform AccountAccount
- ActiveCampaign AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the Getform trigger that continues only when the email field is not empty, so incomplete submissions never reach ActiveCampaign.
- Send a test submission through your Getform form after import. FlowMattic then captures the real field names, which makes mapping the ActiveCampaign step simpler.
- If you run more than one Getform form, import the workflow once per form and map each copy to suit that form's fields.
Questions about this workflow
What happens when the Getform submitter is already an ActiveCampaign contact?
The action creates a new contact or updates an existing one, so a known person has their contact updated with the details you map rather than added twice.
Are older Getform submissions sent to ActiveCampaign?
No. The trigger responds to new submissions, so only entries received after you turn the workflow on are passed along.
Does Getform still keep a copy of each submission?
Yes. The workflow only reads the new submission. Getform stores and handles it the way it normally does.
Can I add the Getform contact to a list or tag in ActiveCampaign too?
Not as imported. The template has one ActiveCampaign step. Add another ActiveCampaign action after it if your account needs the contact placed somewhere specific, and run a test to confirm it.
