What this workflow does
A Hello Bar on your site gathers subscribers, but those addresses do your campaigns no good until they reach your email platform. Your marketing team also tends to hear about new sign-ups only when someone checks a report. This workflow handles both: the subscriber goes into ActiveCampaign, and the team gets a note in Slack.
The Hello Bar trigger runs for each new subscriber. FlowMattic sends the subscriber's details to ActiveCampaign with Create or Update Contact, which adds a contact or updates the one that already has that email. Next, a message goes to the Slack channel you select. You write that message yourself and can include any subscriber field from the trigger.
The steps run in order for every new subscriber, and nothing in the template filters them. If a subscriber doesn't show up in ActiveCampaign, open the run in Task History to see what the ActiveCampaign step returned, then fix the mapping or connection.

- Put the subscriber email in the Slack message text, so whoever reads the post can look the contact up in ActiveCampaign without asking around.
- If the channel gets too busy, put a Filter between the ActiveCampaign step and the Slack step, for example one that continues only when the email does not contain gmail.com. Every subscriber still reaches ActiveCampaign first.
- Send a test subscription after import and check that the contact appears in ActiveCampaign and the message lands in the right Slack channel before you switch the workflow on.

The ones you map. The template leaves the ActiveCampaign step unmapped, so after import you match the Hello Bar email, and a name if your bar collects one, to the contact fields. Task History shows what Hello Bar sent and what ActiveCampaign returned for each subscriber.
Will a returning Hello Bar subscriber create a duplicate in ActiveCampaign?
No. The action is Create or Update Contact, so an existing contact with that email is updated. Slack still gets a message for that subscription.
Are people who subscribed through Hello Bar before import sent to ActiveCampaign?
No. The trigger reacts to subscribers who join after the workflow is turned on. Earlier subscribers need to be added to ActiveCampaign another way.
