When WPForms form is submitted, add a subscriber in Campaign Monitor
Each WPForms submission on your WordPress site adds the person to a Campaign Monitor subscriber list, so your sign-up forms feed your email campaigns without exporting entries by hand.

What this workflow does
WPForms keeps your entries on your own site, but your newsletters go out from Campaign Monitor. Without a link between them, someone has to export the entries and import them into the list now and then, and new subscribers wait for that job. This workflow adds each person to the list as soon as they send the form.
The WPForms trigger runs on every new form submission. FlowMattic hands the submitted fields to Campaign Monitor, whose Add Subscriber action puts the person on the list you choose. Map the form's email field, and the name field if your form has one.
Every submission is sent to Campaign Monitor, from any form the trigger is set to watch. If your form has a newsletter checkbox, add a Filter so only people who tick it are subscribed. Task History shows Campaign Monitor's response for each run, which helps when an address is rejected.
Footer newsletter form
A short WPForms sign-up form in your site footer adds each visitor straight to the Campaign Monitor list your monthly newsletter goes to.
Gated download
Visitors fill in a WPForms form to get a checklist or guide, and each one joins a Campaign Monitor list you use for related follow-up emails.
Contact form with opt-in
Your contact form has a checkbox for news and offers. With a Filter on it, only enquirers who tick the box are added to the list.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
WPForms New Form SubmissionRuns whenever a visitor submits a WPForms form on your WordPress site. The submitted fields become available to map into Campaign Monitor.
Campaign Monitor Add SubscriberAdds the person as a subscriber to the Campaign Monitor list you select. Connect your Campaign Monitor account and map the form's email field, plus the name if you collect it.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- WPForms PluginPlugin
- Campaign Monitor AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when your consent checkbox is ticked, so people who just ask a question aren't subscribed.
- Make the WPForms email field required so every run has an address to send to Campaign Monitor.
- Send one test entry after import so FlowMattic captures the form fields, then map them in the Campaign Monitor step.
Questions about this workflow
Where does WPForms need to be installed?
WPForms and FlowMattic must run on one WordPress install. The trigger listens for submissions made there, so build the form you want to use on that site.
Which Campaign Monitor list do subscribers join?
The list you pick when you configure the Add Subscriber step. To use different lists for different forms, import the workflow once per form.
Are earlier WPForms entries added to Campaign Monitor?
No. Entries sent before the workflow was switched on stay in WPForms only. Import older entries into Campaign Monitor directly if you need them.
What if one person sends the WPForms form twice?
The Add Subscriber step runs again with the same address. Check Task History for Campaign Monitor's response to see how it handled the repeat.
