The Cross-post new blog articles to Telegram and Discord workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across WordPress, Telegram, Discord
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Readers who follow you on Telegram or in a Discord server want to know when a new article is out. Posting the link in each place after you publish is easy to forget, and late announcements get less attention. This workflow sends both the moment WordPress reports the new post.

The WordPress New Post trigger starts the run with the post's title and URL. Telegram Send a Text Message then posts a short announcement with the title in bold and the link underneath, using HTML formatting. Discord Send Channel Message posts the same announcement to your server, with the title in bold using Discord's own formatting.

Both messages are fixed templates, so every post is announced the same way. Edit the text in each step if you want a different style, such as an excerpt or a call to read. Publish a test post after import to confirm when the trigger fires and where each message appears.

Bloggers with a Telegram channel

Subscribers to your Telegram channel get each article with a clickable link as soon as it is up, without you opening Telegram.

Developer or gaming communities on Discord

Your Discord server gets an announcement for each tutorial or patch note you publish, so members find new posts where they already chat.

News sites reaching mobile readers

Breaking posts go out to Telegram and Discord at once, reaching readers who check messaging apps before they visit your site.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    WordPress New Post

The workflow starts automatically when a new post is published in WordPress. FlowMattic captures that data for the steps below.

  2. Step 2Action
    Telegram Send a Text Message

Telegram — sends a text message with support to markup. Data is mapped from earlier steps; connect your Telegram account on import.

  3. Step 3Action
    Discord Send Channel Message

Discord — post a new message to a specific #channel you choose. Data is mapped from earlier steps; connect your Discord account on import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Telegram AccountAccount
  • Discord AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add the post excerpt to both messages so readers get a reason to click, not only a title.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger if you only want certain posts shared, for example by checking the title or author.
  • Add a Delay after the trigger if you often edit just after publishing, so the announcement links to the finished post.

Questions about this workflow

Will older WordPress posts be shared to Telegram and Discord?

No. Only posts that reach the New Post trigger after you switch the workflow on are announced.

Does the post image show in the messages?

The messages contain only the title and link. Whether Telegram or Discord show a link preview with your featured image depends on each app and your post's sharing tags.

Can I post to more than one Discord channel?

Yes. Add another Discord Send Channel Message step after the first and point it at the second channel.

Why does the Telegram message use HTML?

The step's parse mode is set to HTML so the title shows in bold. Keep the bold tags valid if you edit the message text.
