Log every Cardz appointment received in a Google Sheets spreadsheet

Each appointment a customer books through your Cardz digital business card is added as a new row in Google Sheets, giving you one running list of bookings you can sort, share and report on.

The Log every Cardz appointment received in a Google Sheets spreadsheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Cardz, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

A digital business card that takes bookings is handy for the people you meet, but the appointments then live inside Cardz. If you plan your week in a spreadsheet, share bookings with an assistant, or want to count how many meetings your card brings in, you need that data somewhere else. This workflow puts every booking in a sheet as it arrives.

The Cardz trigger receives the data when a customer books a new appointment. FlowMattic passes the booking to Google Sheets, whose Add New Row action writes it to the spreadsheet and tab you pick. You choose which booking details go into which column when you map the step.

Each booking adds one row, so the sheet grows into a full history. A row is not changed or removed if the appointment is later moved or cancelled, because the template only listens for new bookings. Task History records every run with the data that went to Google Sheets.

Assistant keeps the diary

Your assistant works from the shared sheet to prepare for each meeting booked through your Cardz card, without needing a Cardz login.

Counting bookings after a trade show

You hand out your digital card at an event, then sort the sheet by booking date to see how many meetings came in during the following weeks.

Team view for a sales group

Several reps each send bookings from their own Cardz card into one spreadsheet, using a copy of this workflow per rep with a column for who received the booking.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Cardz New Appointment Received

Receives the data when a customer books a new appointment through your Cardz card. The booking details are then available to map in the Google Sheets step.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Adds one row per booking to the spreadsheet and tab you choose. Set up column headers first, connect your Google account, then map each Cardz booking detail to its column.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Cardz AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Book a test appointment on your own Cardz card after import, so FlowMattic captures the booking fields you can map before turning the workflow on.
  • Add a column with a fixed value, such as the card owner's name, when several people copy this workflow into one shared sheet.
  • To be told about bookings as well as logging them, add a Slack or email step after Google Sheets so the person who owns the card hears about each new booking.

Questions about this workflow

Does the sheet change if a Cardz appointment is cancelled?

No. The template listens only for new bookings and only adds rows, so update or remove a cancelled appointment in the sheet yourself.

Are bookings made before I set this up added to Google Sheets?

No. The sheet starts filling from the moment the workflow is switched on; earlier Cardz bookings stay where they are.

Which Cardz booking details can I put in the sheet?

Whatever the New Appointment Received event sends. Make a test booking after import and look at the captured data to see the fields you can map.

An excellent replacement to Zapier with unlimited tasks and full control over data. Customer service is fantastic! Have had hands-on support from owner who is ultra helpful and they have even been integrating new SAAS options continuously.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.
