Send a Slack notification when a Kickpages product sale happens

Every product sale in Kickpages posts a message to a Slack channel you choose, with the sale details you map, so your team sees each new order where they already talk.

The Send a Slack notification when a Kickpages product sale happens workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Kickpages, Slack
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

When sales come in through a Kickpages funnel, the people who care about them, from the founder to the person who ships orders, aren't always watching the Kickpages dashboard. A message in Slack puts each sale in front of them without anyone checking. This workflow posts one for every sale.

The Kickpages trigger, Product Sale Notification, fires when a product sale happens. FlowMattic receives the sale data and passes it to Slack. The Send Channel Message step posts a message to the channel you pick, and you place sale details in it, such as the product and the buyer's name.

Every sale posts one message, since there is no Filter. The message only contains what you map, so leave out personal details if the channel is large or includes guests. Task History shows each run and the reply Slack returned.

A sales channel for a small team

Each Kickpages sale shows up in #sales, so everyone sees which product sold without opening the funnel dashboard.

Fulfilment alerts for physical products

The person who packs orders watches a Slack channel. Each sale message names the product, so they know what to prepare.

Launch-day updates

During a product launch, the team follows sales as they arrive in a dedicated Slack channel instead of refreshing reports.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Kickpages Product Sale Notification

Fires when a product sale happens in Kickpages. The sale details are passed on so you can use them in the Slack message.

  2. Step 2Action
    Slack Send Channel Message

Puts a sale alert in the Slack channel you pick. Write the message text and place the Kickpages sale fields in it, then connect your Slack workspace.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Kickpages AccountAccount
  • Slack AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • For a private Slack channel, replace this step with Slack's Send Private Channel Message. To alert one person, swap in Send Direct Message.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger on the product name if only some products should post to this channel.
  • Put the product name at the start of the message, so the Slack notification preview shows the key detail before anyone opens it.

Questions about this workflow

Can the Kickpages sale message go to a private Slack channel?

Not with this step. Swap in Slack's Send Private Channel Message for a private one. Send Channel Message is the action in this template, and you pick the channel when you set it up.

What Kickpages sale details can I show in Slack?

Whatever Kickpages includes in the sale notification. Make a test purchase, then look at the sale data FlowMattic received to see which fields you can place in the message.

Will past Kickpages sales be posted?

No. Only sales made after the workflow is switched on post a message. Earlier sales stay in your Kickpages records.

Does this change anything in Kickpages?

No. The workflow only receives the sale notification and posts to Slack. Your Kickpages funnel and order records stay as they are.
