Add LinkedCamp prospects to a Mailchimp audience when a tag is added

When a tag is added to a contact in LinkedCamp, this workflow adds that prospect to your Mailchimp audience, or updates them if they are already on it, so your LinkedIn outreach and email lists stay connected.

What this workflow does

LinkedCamp runs your LinkedIn outreach, and tags are how you sort the prospects it finds. When a tag means a prospect is ready for email, copying them into Mailchimp by hand is slow and easy to forget. This workflow moves them across each time a tag is added.

The LinkedCamp trigger fires when a tag is added to a contact. FlowMattic passes the prospect's details to the Mailchimp Add New Member action, which adds the person to the audience you choose. If that email address is already a member, Mailchimp updates them instead of adding them twice.

Mailchimp needs an email address, so the prospect's LinkedCamp record must include one for the run to work. Any tag starts the workflow as imported, not one in particular. If only one tag should send prospects to Mailchimp, add a Filter, as the tips explain. Task History lists each run and what Mailchimp returned.

Prospects who accepted a connection

You tag prospects in LinkedCamp once they accept your invite, and each one joins a Mailchimp audience for a follow-up email series.

Interested replies from a campaign

A rep tags a prospect as interested after a LinkedIn reply, and the person is added to Mailchimp so marketing can send case studies.

Event invitations to warm prospects

Tagging prospects for an upcoming webinar puts them in the Mailchimp audience you use to send the invitation.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    LinkedCamp Tag Added

Starts a run whenever a tag is added to a contact in LinkedCamp. The prospect's details and the tag become data you can map in the Mailchimp step.

  2. Step 2Action
    Mailchimp Add New Member

Adds the prospect to the Mailchimp audience you pick, or updates them if the email address is already a member. Map the LinkedCamp email and any name fields into the step.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • LinkedCamp AccountAccount
  • Mailchimp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the tag name equals the tag you use for email-ready prospects. Other tags then leave Mailchimp alone.
  • Add a second Filter condition that the email field is not empty, so prospects without an address end the run quietly instead of returning an error from Mailchimp.
  • Tag a test prospect in LinkedCamp after import, then use the captured data to map the email and name fields before you turn the workflow on.

Questions about this workflow

What if the LinkedCamp prospect is already in my Mailchimp audience?

Add New Member adds new people and updates existing members, so a prospect who is already in the audience is updated rather than duplicated.

Does any LinkedCamp tag trigger the workflow?

Yes, as imported. Every tag added to a contact starts a run. Add a Filter on the tag name to limit it to one tag.

What happens if a LinkedCamp prospect has no email address?

Mailchimp cannot add a member without one, so that run ends with an error on the Mailchimp step in Task History. A Filter that checks for an email avoids this.

Can tagged prospects go to different Mailchimp audiences?

Not as imported. Replace the single action with a Router whose routes check the tag name, each with its own Add New Member step for a different audience.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.
