What this workflow does
Albacross identifies companies visiting your website and gives you leads to follow up. Those leads sit in Albacross until someone moves them to the tool you email from. This workflow does the move for each new lead, so your Mailchimp audience grows with the contacts Albacross hands over.
The Albacross trigger fires when new leads are received. FlowMattic passes each lead's details to Mailchimp, where Add New Member puts the contact into the audience you pick. If the address is already a member, Mailchimp updates their details instead of adding them again.
Every Mailchimp member is keyed on an email address. Run a test after import and check that the Albacross lead data contains one you can map. A lead that arrives without an email can't be added, and the Mailchimp response for that run appears in Task History.
B2B nurture list from website visitors
Contacts at companies Albacross picks up go into a Mailchimp audience you use for a slow, educational email series aimed at that kind of buyer.
Account-based marketing for a target list
Albacross leads from your target accounts land in a dedicated Mailchimp audience, where you send them case studies relevant to their industry.
Hand-off between marketing and sales
Marketing runs the Mailchimp emails while sales follows up in their own tools. Every Albacross lead is in the audience without anyone exporting a file.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Albacross New LeadsFires when Albacross sends FlowMattic new leads. The lead details it provides are passed on so you can map the contact's email and name into Mailchimp.
Mailchimp Add New MemberAdds the Albacross contact to your chosen Mailchimp audience, or updates them if the email is already a member. Map the lead's email address and any name fields it carries.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Albacross AccountAccount
- Mailchimp AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the lead's email is not empty, so leads without an address don't create failed Mailchimp runs.
- Follow the member step with Mailchimp's Add Member Tag action and a tag such as albacross. You can then segment these contacts apart from people who signed up themselves.
- Check your consent rules before you email contacts who did not sign up to your list. You may want to put Albacross leads in a separate audience used for a softer first touch.
Questions about this workflow
Does every Albacross lead have an email address for Mailchimp?
That depends on the data Albacross sends for the lead. Check a test run in Task History. Mailchimp can't add a member without an email address.
What if the Albacross contact is already in my Mailchimp audience?
Add New Member updates an existing member instead of creating a second one, so the audience keeps one record per address.
Should I use the New Leads or All Leads trigger from Albacross?
This template uses New Leads, which fires when leads are received. FlowMattic also offers an All Leads trigger for Albacross if you want to work with every lead.
Does adding the contact send them an email from Mailchimp?
Not from FlowMattic. Whether they get anything depends on the automations and campaigns you set up for that audience in Mailchimp.
