Add new Consolto leads to a Mailchimp audience for follow-up

Each new lead collected in Consolto is added to your Mailchimp audience, or updated if they are already a member, so you can follow up with the people who contacted you through your site.

Consolto Mailchimp

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.5k sites Free to import

The Add new Consolto leads to a Mailchimp audience for follow-up workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Consolto, Mailchimp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Consolto puts a chat and video call widget on your website and collects details from visitors who get in touch. Those leads are worth following up by email, but copying them into Mailchimp by hand is slow. This workflow adds each one to your audience.

The Consolto trigger fires when a new lead is collected, and the lead's details come into FlowMattic. The Mailchimp step uses Add New Member, which adds the person to the audience you pick, or updates them if they already exist.

Every lead runs the Mailchimp step as imported. Leads without an email address can't become members, and Task History shows Mailchimp's error for those runs. Make sure the people you add have agreed to hear from you, and use a Mailchimp tag or automation to start the follow-up itself.

Consultants taking video calls

A consultant meets prospects through Consolto video calls. Each lead joins a Mailchimp audience that receives a follow-up sequence.

Clinics answering visitor questions

A clinic's site chat collects patient enquiries. Leads go into Mailchimp for the clinic's newsletter, once they have agreed to it.

Sales team with an email nurture

A B2B team captures chat leads on its pricing page and moves them into a Mailchimp audience that their nurture emails go to.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Consolto New Lead

Starts a run when a new lead is collected in your Consolto account. The lead's details, including the email they gave, are passed on to Mailchimp.

  2. Step 2Action
    Mailchimp Add New Member

Puts the Consolto lead into your chosen Mailchimp audience as a member; a person already on that audience gets their details refreshed instead. Map the email address and any name fields, then connect Mailchimp after import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Consolto AccountAccount
  • Mailchimp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the lead's email is not empty, so leads who left only a phone number stop before Mailchimp.
  • Set up a Mailchimp automation for this audience, or a tag that starts one, so new members receive your follow-up without anyone sending it by hand.
  • Create a test lead in Consolto after import, then check Task History to confirm which fields arrived and that Mailchimp accepted the member.

Questions about this workflow

What if the Consolto lead is already in my Mailchimp audience?

Add New Member updates an existing member instead of adding a second copy, so the person stays in your audience once.

Does Mailchimp send the follow-up emails automatically?

Not because of this workflow. Its job ends once Mailchimp holds the Consolto lead as a member. Build the follow-up in Mailchimp, for example as an automation for new members.

What happens to Consolto leads without an email address?

Mailchimp needs an email to add a member, so those runs return an error that Task History shows. Add a Filter to skip them.
