Create a Zoho Writer document when a new Stripe payment succeeds

When a Stripe charge succeeds, this workflow creates a Zoho Writer document from HTML you build with the payment details, giving you a written record of each payment in your Zoho account.

The Create a Zoho Writer document when a new Stripe payment succeeds workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Stripe, Zoho Writer
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

A successful Stripe payment often needs a document to go with it: a payment record, a confirmation note or a simple summary for your files. Writing those by hand after each charge is slow and easy to forget. This workflow creates one in Zoho Writer for every successful charge.

The Stripe trigger fires whenever a new charge is created and succeeds. FlowMattic receives the charge data, such as the amount, currency, description and billing details. The Zoho Writer step then creates a document from HTML content. You write that HTML in the step and drop the charge fields into it, so each document carries the details of its own payment.

The document is created in your Zoho Writer account only. The workflow does not email it, share it or send it to the customer. Every successful charge gets its own document, including small ones and repeat payments, and Task History lists each run.

Payment records for your bookkeeper

Each paid invoice in Stripe gets a matching Zoho Writer document with the amount, date and customer email, which your bookkeeper can open without a Stripe login.

Simple payment confirmations

A coach takes session payments through Stripe. Every charge produces a short confirmation document she can print or attach to her own emails.

Deposits on custom work

When a client pays a deposit, a document records what was paid and the description from the charge, ready to sit beside the project brief.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Stripe New Charge

Fires whenever a new charge is created in Stripe and succeeds. The charge data, such as amount, currency, description and billing details, is passed on for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    Zoho Writer Create Document

Builds a new Zoho Writer document out of HTML. Write the HTML in this step and insert Stripe charge fields where they belong. Connect your Zoho account when you import.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Stripe AccountAccount
  • Zoho Writer AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Stripe sends amounts in the smallest currency unit, so 2500 can mean 25.00. Label the value clearly in your HTML or format it before it reaches the document.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the amount is greater than a set value, so tiny test or tip charges don't each produce a document.
  • Use simple HTML headings and a table for the charge details. It keeps every document in the same layout and easy to scan.

Questions about this workflow

Does the customer receive the Zoho Writer document?

No. The workflow only creates the document in your Zoho Writer account. To send it, you would add further steps after import, such as sharing or emailing it from another app.

Which Stripe payments start the workflow?

Any new charge that succeeds in your connected Stripe account. Failed charges don't trigger it, and refunds don't remove the document that was already created.

Can I use a Zoho Writer template instead of HTML?

This template uses Create Document, which builds the document from HTML. Zoho Writer also has a Merge Document action in FlowMattic, which you can swap in if you prefer a template.

Will past Stripe charges get documents?

No. Only charges that succeed after you turn the workflow on reach Zoho Writer.
