Every license key Lemon Squeezy creates is added as a new record in the Airtable table you choose, giving you one place to look up keys, the customers who hold them and the products they belong to.

The Create Airtable records for new Lemon Squeezy license keys workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Lemon Squeezy, Airtable
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

If you sell software, plugins or templates through Lemon Squeezy, each sale can come with a license key. When a customer writes in about activation, you want to find their key quickly, and you may want your own notes beside it. Keeping those keys in Airtable gives your support and sales people a table they can search, sort and annotate.

The Lemon Squeezy trigger fires when a new license key is created. FlowMattic receives the key's details from Lemon Squeezy and passes them to Airtable. The Create Record step then adds a new record in the base and table you pick, with the license data mapped to your columns.

Only newly created keys are recorded. Changes to an existing key, such as a new status, don't touch the Airtable record, because the template has no update step. A second workflow on Lemon Squeezy's License Key Updated trigger can log those changes as records of their own. Task History shows what was sent to Airtable on each run.

Support lookup for a WordPress plugin

A customer says their key won't activate. Your support person searches the Airtable table by email and sees the key and the product it belongs to.

Tracking keys across several products

You sell three apps through one Lemon Squeezy store. Airtable groups the key records by product so you can see which one each customer bought.

Adding notes for enterprise customers

Each new key lands as a record, and your sales lead adds a column for account notes, such as a renewal contact, without touching Lemon Squeezy.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Lemon Squeezy License Key Created

Fires when Lemon Squeezy creates a new license key, usually as part of an order for a product with license keys. The key's details are passed on for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    Airtable Create Record

Adds one record to the Airtable base and table you select for every new key. Map the license key fields from Lemon Squeezy into your table's columns.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Lemon Squeezy AccountAccount
  • Airtable AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger if this table should hold keys for one product only. Run a test first to see which product details the key event carries.
  • Restrict who can view the Airtable table. License keys give access to your product, so keep them away from people who don't need them.
  • Create a test key, for example with a test order in Lemon Squeezy, after import. FlowMattic then captures the data and you can map each column.

Questions about this workflow

Are existing Lemon Squeezy license keys copied into Airtable?

No. Only keys created after you turn the workflow on are recorded. Import older keys into the table separately if you want a full history.

What happens in Airtable when a license key is disabled?

Nothing, as imported. The template only creates records for new keys. A separate workflow on the License Key Updated trigger can add a record for each change, so you have a log of them.

Which Airtable columns should I set up for Lemon Squeezy keys?

Create columns for the data you will look up later, such as the key, the customer email and the product. Run a test first to see which fields Lemon Squeezy sends, then add columns to match.

Can the Lemon Squeezy key also go to Google Sheets?

Yes. Add a Google Sheets Add New Row step after the Airtable step and map the same license fields. Both steps run for every key.
