Create Brilliant Directories users from new product purchases in ThriveCart

When an order succeeds in ThriveCart, FlowMattic creates a user record in your Brilliant Directories site from the buyer’s details, so people who pay through ThriveCart get a directory account.

The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

If you sell directory memberships or listings through a ThriveCart checkout, each sale still needs an account on your Brilliant Directories site. Creating those by hand after every purchase delays the buyer and is easy to miss. This workflow creates the user for you when the order goes through.

The ThriveCart trigger, Order Success, fires when an order is successful. The buyer and order details become values you can map. The Brilliant Directories step, Create User, then adds a new user record to your directory's database, filled with the ThriveCart values you mapped, such as the buyer's name and email.

The trigger fires on every successful order, not only first purchases. A returning buyer sends the step another create request for someone who may already exist, and Brilliant Directories may refuse it. Task History shows the response, so check it after your first few orders.

Paid directory listings sold through ThriveCart

A business owner buys a listing on your ThriveCart page, and a Brilliant Directories user is created so they can manage their profile.

Membership launches with a ThriveCart funnel

During a launch, each buyer gets a Brilliant Directories account without you exporting buyer lists between the two tools.

Course or community add-ons

A ThriveCart product that includes directory access creates the member record right after checkout instead of at the end of the day.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    ThriveCart Order Success

Runs when an order in ThriveCart is successful. The buyer's details and the order data are passed on to map into the new user.

  2. Step 2Action
    Brilliant Directories Create User

Creates a new user record in your Brilliant Directories site's database. Connect your Brilliant Directories account and map ThriveCart values, such as the buyer's email and name, into it.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • ThriveCart AccountAccount
  • Brilliant Directories AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Selling more than one product in ThriveCart? Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only for the product that includes directory access.
  • Run one test order after import so FlowMattic captures real ThriveCart data, then check that the user appears in Brilliant Directories as you expect.
  • To tell the buyer their directory account is ready, add an email step after Create User that explains how to sign in to your Brilliant Directories site.

Questions about this workflow

What happens when a ThriveCart buyer already has a Brilliant Directories account?

The template only creates users, so it sends another create request. Brilliant Directories may refuse a duplicate. Check the step's response in Task History, and use the Get User or Update User actions in a separate setup if you need to handle existing members.

Does every ThriveCart product create a Brilliant Directories user?

As imported, yes. Every successful order starts a run. Add a Filter on the product if only some products should give directory access.

Which Brilliant Directories user details can I set from ThriveCart?

Open the Create User step after import to see what it accepts, then map the matching ThriveCart values. A test order shows which buyer details ThriveCart sends.

Are earlier ThriveCart buyers added to Brilliant Directories?

No. Only orders that succeed after you turn the workflow on start a run. Buyers from before need to be added another way.

Was spending much more on Zapier and running out of tasks, now have unlimited tasks. Team is continuing to add integrations and taking feedback. Creator of company is ultra responsive to emails and helpful always.

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.
