Create Google Sheets row for each new MailerPress subscriber

Whenever a new contact is created in MailerPress on your WordPress site, this workflow adds their details to a new row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet you choose.

MailerPress Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.8k sites Free to import

The Create Google Sheets row for each new MailerPress subscriber workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across MailerPress, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

MailerPress keeps your email list inside WordPress. That is convenient for sending, but sometimes you need the list somewhere else: a colleague without an admin login, a quick report, or an outside copy of new sign-ups. This workflow writes each new MailerPress contact to Google Sheets.

The MailerPress trigger fires when a new contact is created in MailerPress. FlowMattic passes the contact's details to the Google Sheets Add New Row step, which writes them to the spreadsheet you pick. You choose the columns, such as email, name and anything else the contact record carries.

The trigger reacts to contact creation, so it covers new contacts however MailerPress creates them, not just form sign-ups. It does not follow later changes like unsubscribes. Task History lists each run, which helps if a contact seems to be missing from the sheet.

Sign-up report for a client

An agency managing a client's MailerPress list shares a Google Sheet of new contacts so the client sees growth without a WordPress login.

Outside copy of new contacts

A small publisher keeps a sheet of every contact MailerPress creates, as a second record held outside the WordPress database.

Lead hand-off to sales

Contacts created from a newsletter form land in a sheet that a salesperson checks for company names worth following up.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    MailerPress Contact Created

Runs when a new contact is created in MailerPress. The contact's details are passed on so you can place them in the spreadsheet row.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Adds the new MailerPress contact as a row in the spreadsheet you choose. Map the email and other contact details to columns and connect your Google account.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • MailerPress PluginPlugin
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a date column and map a value from the trigger, if it carries one, so you can see when each contact joined your MailerPress list.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger if you only want contacts whose details match a rule, for example an email that does not contain your own domain.
  • Create a test contact in MailerPress after import so FlowMattic captures the contact fields, then map them to your sheet's columns.

Questions about this workflow

Does every new MailerPress contact create a row?

Yes. Each contact the trigger reports as created runs the Google Sheets step once, with no condition in between.

Will MailerPress unsubscribes update the Google Sheet?

No. The workflow reacts only to new contacts. A later change to the contact, such as an unsubscribe, does not touch the existing row.

Are my existing MailerPress contacts copied to the sheet?

No. Contacts created before the workflow is turned on are not sent. Export them from MailerPress if you want them in the same sheet.

Does MailerPress need to be on the same site as FlowMattic?

Yes. The trigger listens for contacts created by the MailerPress plugin on the WordPress site where FlowMattic runs.
