Create new subscriber in Campaign Monitor for new form submission in MakeForms
Each response to your MakeForms form adds the respondent to a Campaign Monitor list as a subscriber, so people who fill in a sign-up or enquiry form land on your email list.

What this workflow does
A form that collects email addresses only helps your marketing if those addresses reach the list you send from. This workflow moves each MakeForms respondent into Campaign Monitor as the response comes in, so nobody has to export entries and import them by hand.
The MakeForms trigger runs when your form receives a submission. FlowMattic describes it as firing when a form submission is received, and it passes the answers in that response to the next step. You connect the form after import and send a test response so the field names appear.
The Campaign Monitor step adds a new subscriber to the list you pick. It ships unmapped: after import you connect your Campaign Monitor account, choose the list, and map the respondent's email address, plus a name field if your form asks for one.
Every response starts a run, so each person who submits the form is sent to the list. If your form also serves people who didn't ask for email, such as support requests, plan for that before you switch the workflow on. Task History lists each run with what Campaign Monitor sent back.
Newsletter sign-up form on a landing page
A MakeForms sign-up form embedded on a landing page sends each new email address to the Campaign Monitor list your newsletter goes out to.
Event registrations on their own list
People who register for a webinar through a MakeForms form join a separate Campaign Monitor list, so reminders and follow-up emails reach only attendees.
Lead magnet downloads
A form that hands out a guide or checklist adds each requester to a list that starts a Campaign Monitor journey about your product.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
MakeForms New ResponseStarts a run whenever your MakeForms form receives a submission. The answers in that response, such as the email address and name, become available to map into Campaign Monitor.
Campaign Monitor Add SubscriberAdds the respondent as a subscriber to the Campaign Monitor list you choose. The step ships unmapped: after import, connect your account, pick the list and map the email address and name from the form.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- MakeForms AccountAccount
- Campaign Monitor AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- If your form has a consent checkbox, put a Filter between the MakeForms trigger and the Add Subscriber step that continues only when it is ticked. The checkbox field is yours to pick, so treat the condition as an example to edit.
- Use a separate Campaign Monitor list for each form you connect, so you can tell where a subscriber came from and send each group its own emails.
- Send a test response with every field filled in before mapping, so all the form's fields show up in the Campaign Monitor step.
Questions about this workflow
Which MakeForms answers end up in Campaign Monitor?
Only what you map in the Add Subscriber step. The template leaves it empty, so after import you choose the list and map at least the email address from the response.
What if a respondent is already subscribed in Campaign Monitor?
Campaign Monitor decides how to treat an address it already holds. Submit a test response with an email that is already on the list and read the result in Task History.
Are past MakeForms responses added when I turn this on?
No. The trigger reacts to new MakeForms responses from the moment you switch the workflow on, and older ones are left alone. Export older responses from MakeForms and import them into Campaign Monitor if you want them on the list.
Can I connect more than one MakeForms form to the same list?
Yes. Import the workflow once per form and point each copy at the list you want, or at the same list if all forms feed one audience.
