Send a Slack alert when a Rocketlane task status is updated
Each time a task’s status is updated in Rocketlane, FlowMattic posts a message to a Slack channel, so your delivery team sees project progress without opening Rocketlane.

What this workflow does
Rocketlane tracks the tasks in your customer onboarding and delivery projects. Your team, though, often talks in Slack, and a task moving to done or getting blocked can go unnoticed until the next status meeting. This workflow posts each status change to a channel.
The Rocketlane trigger, Task Status Updated, fires when a task's status is updated. Next, the Send Channel Message action posts to a channel of your choice in Slack. Write the message and map in details from the event, such as the task name, the project and the new status, based on what a test update captures.
Every status update posts, whatever the new status is. On a large project that adds up, so consider a Filter for the statuses your team cares about.
Onboarding team stand-ups
Status changes across customer onboarding projects post to #onboarding, so the team starts the day knowing what moved.
Account managers watching key customers
A channel per key account shows each task status update, so the account manager can mention progress in their next call.
Agency delivery leads across clients
A delivery lead follows one Slack channel to see task status changes from every client project in Rocketlane as they happen.

What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Rocketlane AccountAccount
- Slack AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only for the statuses that matter to your team, using the status values a test update shows.
- Use a Router to send updates for different projects to different Slack channels, with one route per project name.
- Include the project name in the message, since one channel may receive updates from several Rocketlane projects.
Questions about this workflow
Does every Rocketlane status change post to Slack?
Yes, as imported. There is no Filter, so each task status update posts once. Add a Filter to limit it to certain statuses.
What about other Rocketlane changes, like a new assignee?
Those changes are outside this trigger. Rocketlane has separate triggers, such as Task Assignee Updated and Task Field Updated, for those.
Can Slack replies update the Rocketlane task?
No. The workflow only posts to Slack. Status changes still happen in Rocketlane.
Which accounts do I connect for Rocketlane and Slack?
A Rocketlane account that can see the projects you want to follow, and a Slack workspace where you can post to the channel.
