Store TaskMagic scraped data as records in Airtable

Whenever a TaskMagic automation sends its scraped data to FlowMattic, a new Airtable record is created from it, so your scraping results build up in a base you can sort, filter and share.

TaskMagic Airtable

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.2k sites Free to import

The Store TaskMagic scraped data as records in Airtable workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across TaskMagic, Airtable
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

TaskMagic can scrape data from web pages, but the results are only useful once they sit somewhere structured. Copying them into a table by hand defeats the point of automating the scrape. This workflow turns each batch of scraped data that TaskMagic sends into an Airtable record.

The TaskMagic trigger is Scrape Data from Automation. It fires when one of your TaskMagic automations sends scraped data to FlowMattic, and the values it sends become data you can map. The next step is Create Record in Airtable, which adds a new record to the base and table you choose.

You decide which scraped values go into which Airtable fields. Run your TaskMagic automation once after import so FlowMattic receives a sample, then map it. Each time data arrives, one new record is created; existing records are not checked or changed.

Competitor price tracking

A TaskMagic automation collects product names and prices from competitor pages. Each result becomes an Airtable record you can group and compare over time.

Lead lists from directories

You scrape business listings with TaskMagic. The names, websites and contact details land in an Airtable table your sales team works from.

Job or property listings

Scraped listings go into Airtable, where you add views by location or date and share them with colleagues.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    TaskMagic Scrape Data from Automation

Runs when a TaskMagic automation sends its scraped data to FlowMattic. The scraped values are passed on for mapping into Airtable.

  2. Step 2Action
    Airtable Create Record

Adds one record to the Airtable table you point it at for each batch TaskMagic sends. Map the scraped values into your fields, then run the TaskMagic automation once to test the record.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • TaskMagic AccountAccount
  • Airtable AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • If TaskMagic sends several scraped items in one batch, add an Iterator after the trigger so each item becomes its own Airtable record.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when a key scraped value is present, so empty scrapes do not create blank records.
  • Add a field in Airtable for the date the record was created, so you can see when each scrape result came in.

Questions about this workflow

What happens when TaskMagic scrapes the same item again?

A new Airtable record is created each time, because Create Record does not look for an existing one. Remove duplicates in Airtable, or filter them out before this step.

Do I need the Airtable table set up before the first TaskMagic run?

Yes. Create the base and table with fields for the data you scrape, so you have somewhere to map each value.

Does TaskMagic have to be told to send data to FlowMattic?

Yes. The trigger only fires when your TaskMagic automation sends scraped data to FlowMattic, so set that up in TaskMagic and run it once to test.
