Subscribe new Subpage leads to a Mailchimp audience

Each new lead captured by Subpage is added to the Mailchimp audience you choose, or updated if their email is already there, so sign-ups from your landing pages join your email list.

Subpage Mailchimp

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.7k sites Free to import

The Subscribe new Subpage leads to a Mailchimp audience workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Subpage, Mailchimp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

A Subpage landing page is often built to grow a mailing list: a free guide, a waitlist, a newsletter sign-up. Those leads are only useful once they are in Mailchimp, where your emails go out. This workflow moves each one across when it is created.

Each run starts with the Subpage trigger, which reacts to every newly created lead. FlowMattic receives the lead's details and passes them to Mailchimp. The Add New Member action adds the person to the audience you pick. If that email address is already in the audience, Mailchimp updates the existing member instead.

You map the lead's email, plus any name values Subpage sends, into the member details. What happens next, such as a welcome email, is set up in Mailchimp itself. Create a test lead after import and check that the person appears in your audience; Task History shows every run.

Waitlist for a product launch

Your Subpage waitlist page collects emails. Each person joins the Mailchimp audience you will use for the launch announcement.

Lead magnet downloads

Visitors give their email for a checklist on a Subpage page, and they are added to Mailchimp so your follow-up emails reach them.

Newsletter sign-up on a campaign page

A one-off campaign page built in Subpage adds every sign-up to your main newsletter audience.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Subpage Lead Created

Starts the workflow whenever Subpage records a new lead. The lead's details, including the email address, are passed on to the Mailchimp step.

  2. Step 2Action
    Mailchimp Add New Member

Adds the lead to the Mailchimp audience you choose, or updates them if they are already a member. Connect your Mailchimp account and map the email and any name values.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Subpage AccountAccount
  • Mailchimp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the email is not empty, so the Mailchimp step never runs without an address.
  • If you run several Subpage pages, check whether the lead data names the source page. If it does and the Mailchimp step lets you map it, store it on the member so you can segment by page later.
  • Add a Google Sheets step after Mailchimp to keep your own copy of every lead, separate from the audience.

Questions about this workflow

What happens if the Subpage lead is already in my Mailchimp audience?

Add New Member updates the existing member with the details you map instead of creating a second one.

Will the Subpage lead receive a Mailchimp welcome email?

Only if you set one up in Mailchimp for that audience. The workflow adds the member; Mailchimp decides what to send.

Can I send Subpage leads to more than one Mailchimp audience?

Add a second Add New Member step after the first and pick another audience. Each step adds the lead to its own audience.
