When a Form2chat form is submitted, add the contact to Mailchimp and log it in Google Sheets
Each new Form2chat submission adds the person to your Mailchimp audience, or updates them if they are already there, and then records the same submission as a row in Google Sheets.

What this workflow does
Leads from a Form2chat form often need to go two places: your Mailchimp audience for email follow-up, and a spreadsheet where you can count and review them. Doing both by hand doubles the work. Here one Form2chat entry feeds your audience and your sheet in the same run.
The Form2chat trigger picks up each entry your Form2chat form receives. FlowMattic sends the email and answers to Mailchimp, where Add New Member adds the person to your audience, or updates them if they already exist. Then the run moves to Google Sheets, and Add New Row writes the submission, and anything Mailchimp returned that you choose to map, into a new row.
The sheet gets a row for every submission, even when Mailchimp only updated someone already on the list. Task History keeps Mailchimp's reply for each submission alongside the row result.
Newsletter sign-ups with a reporting sheet
Visitors join through a Form2chat form, land in your Mailchimp audience, and the sheet gives you a dated list to report weekly sign-up numbers.
Giveaway entries
Entrants sign up through Form2chat, join your Mailchimp list for the winner announcement, and the sheet is the entry list you draw from.
Webinar registrations
Registrants go into Mailchimp for reminder emails, while the event team checks the Google Sheet for names and questions.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Form2chat New Form SubmissionRuns for every new entry sent through your Form2chat form. The email address and answers are passed to Mailchimp and Google Sheets.
Mailchimp Add New MemberPuts the Form2chat contact on your Mailchimp audience, refreshing their member record if the email is already listed. Map the form's email and any name values you collect.
Google Sheets Add New RowWrites the Form2chat submission to a new row in your chosen spreadsheet. Map the answers to columns, plus any Mailchimp response values you want to keep.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Form2chat AccountAccount
- Mailchimp AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- If Mailchimp's response includes the member's status, map it into a sheet column so you can see which submissions reached your audience.
- Put a Filter between the Form2chat trigger and the Mailchimp step that continues only when a consent answer is ticked. People who didn't agree stop there, so they are neither added to Mailchimp nor logged in the sheet.
- Add a Mailchimp Add Member Tag step after Add New Member to tag Form2chat sign-ups and tell them apart from other sources.
Questions about this workflow
What if the Form2chat contact is already in my Mailchimp audience?
Mailchimp treats a known email as the same member and refreshes that record, so no duplicate appears. Blank answers mapped into fields may replace stored values, so map with care.
Which Mailchimp audience do Form2chat contacts join?
The audience (list) you choose in the Add New Member step after import. Connect Mailchimp, pick the audience, and map the form's email address plus any name answers you collect.
Can I send Form2chat contacts to more than one Mailchimp audience?
Add a second Mailchimp Add New Member step pointed at the other audience, and map the same email into it.
