What this workflow does

A Weblium site makes it easy to collect enquiries, but those names sit in the site's form inbox unless someone copies them to your mailing list. This workflow moves every new form contact into MailerLite and files them in a group, so your newsletters and MailerLite automations reach them without an export.

The Weblium trigger fires when a contact form on your Weblium site is submitted, and passes the visitor's answers on. The first MailerLite step creates a new subscriber, or updates the existing one when the email is already in your account, along with any custom fields you map.

The second MailerLite step assigns that subscriber to a group. MailerLite only adds existing subscribers to existing groups, which is why the subscriber step runs first. Create the group in MailerLite before you set up the workflow.

Neither MailerLite step comes with mapping. After import you connect your MailerLite account, map the email and name from the Weblium form into the subscriber step, then pick the group and map the same email in the group step. Send a test entry through your form and open Task History to see what each step returned.

Create the group in MailerLite first, since the group step only adds subscribers to a group that already exists.
If your Weblium form has a consent checkbox, put a Filter between the trigger and the Create or Update Subscriber step that continues only when it is ticked. Visitors who didn't agree then never reach MailerLite.
Map extra form answers, such as company or city, into MailerLite custom fields in the subscriber step, so you can segment the group later.
Set up a MailerLite automation that starts when someone joins the group, so each new form contact gets a welcome email.

What if the Weblium visitor is already a MailerLite subscriber?

The first step updates the existing subscriber instead of creating a new one, then the second step adds them to the group. The values you map overwrite what MailerLite held for that address.

Do I need a MailerLite group before importing?

Yes. The Add Subscriber to a Group step works with groups that already exist, so create the group in MailerLite and choose it in the step.

Does every Weblium form on my site start this workflow?

The trigger fires for contact form submissions on your Weblium site. If you want only one form's entries, check a test run for a field that names the form and put a Filter on it between the Weblium trigger and the Create or Update Subscriber step.
