When a MyParcel status changes, find the order row in Google Sheets, update its status, then notify Slack
When a MyParcel shipment changes status, FlowMattic finds the matching order row in Google Sheets, writes the new status into it, and posts a message in a Slack channel.

What this workflow does
An order sheet is only useful if its shipping column is current. Checking MyParcel and editing the sheet by hand falls behind as parcels move. This workflow keeps the status column up to date and tells your team in Slack each time.
The MyParcel trigger, Webhook Status Change, runs whenever a parcel moves to a new shipment status. FlowMattic then runs Lookup Row Data in Google Sheets, searching your sheet for a value from the shipment, such as the order reference you keep in a column. The next step, Update Row, writes the new status into the row that lookup found. Finally, Slack Send Channel Message posts to the channel you pick.
The lookup only works if your sheet holds a value MyParcel also sends. Check a test run for the shipment fields, then search on the one that matches your order rows. Every status change runs all four steps.
Shop order tracker
Your team keeps a Google Sheet of orders with a MyParcel reference column. Each status change updates that row, and the shipping channel in Slack sees the update.
Spotting stuck parcels
The Slack post for each status change lets someone notice a parcel that keeps returning to the same status and follow it up.
Client reporting for a fulfilment service
A fulfilment company shares a status sheet with a client. The sheet stays current from MyParcel, while staff follow along in Slack.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
MyParcel Webhook Status ChangeStarts the run each time MyParcel reports a new status for one of your shipments. The shipment data, including the new status and its reference, is passed on.
Google Sheets Lookup Row DataSearches your Google Sheets spreadsheet for the shipment's row. Pick the sheet and the column to search, and map the matching value from MyParcel, such as the order reference.
Google Sheets Update RowUpdates the row that the lookup found, writing the new MyParcel status into your status column. Point it at the row the lookup returned, and map the status from the trigger.
Slack Send Channel MessageSends a note to your chosen Slack channel. Include the order reference and new status from the earlier steps so the team can read the update at a glance.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- MyParcel AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
- Slack AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Only want Slack to hear about some statuses, such as delivered or returned? Add a Filter before the Slack step on the status value, keeping the sheet update for every change.
- For a private Slack channel, use Slack's Send Private Channel Message action instead of Send Channel Message.
- Store the MyParcel reference in its own column when you add each order to the sheet, so Lookup Row Data has an exact value to search on.
Questions about this workflow
What happens if Google Sheets has no row for the MyParcel shipment?
The lookup finds nothing, so Update Row has no row to change and Task History shows its error. The Slack step still runs and posts, so add a Filter on the lookup result if you want silence instead.
Does this add new rows for new MyParcel shipments?
No. It only updates rows that already exist. Use MyParcel's Webhook Label Created trigger with Add New Row in a separate workflow to start the log.
Which MyParcel status changes post to Slack?
All of them, as imported. The trigger fires on any status change, and every run reaches the Slack step.
