Create new Shopify orders from new WooCommerce orders
Each new WooCommerce order creates a matching order in your Shopify store, built from the order details you map, so both stores hold a record of the sale without typing it twice.

What this workflow does
Some businesses sell through a WooCommerce site but handle fulfilment, reporting or apps from Shopify. Keeping both sets of orders lined up by hand means re-entering every sale. This workflow copies each new WooCommerce order into Shopify as a new order.
The WooCommerce trigger fires when a new order is created in your store, and FlowMattic receives its details: the customer, items, totals and addresses WooCommerce provides. The Shopify Create Order step then creates a new order in Shopify from the values you map.
The trigger runs when the order is created, which can be before a payment completes, so pending or failed orders are copied too unless you add a Filter. The workflow creates orders only. Later changes to the WooCommerce order, such as a refund or a new status, are not passed to Shopify. Run a test order and check the result in Shopify and in Task History before you rely on it.
Fulfilment handled from Shopify
Your warehouse or shipping app is connected to Shopify. Orders placed on your WooCommerce site appear there too, so staff work from one order list.
Moving from WooCommerce to Shopify
While you run both stores during a migration, new WooCommerce sales are also recorded in Shopify, so its order history stays complete.
One sales report for two stores
A brand with a WooCommerce shop and a Shopify shop sees both sets of orders in Shopify's reports instead of adding them up by hand.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
WooCommerce New Order CreatedStarts the moment WooCommerce records a fresh order on your site. The order's customer, line items, totals and addresses are passed on for mapping into Shopify.
Shopify Create OrderCreates a new order in Shopify from the WooCommerce values you map. Connect your Shopify store and test with a real order to check items and totals come through as you expect.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- WooCommerce PluginPlugin
- Shopify AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the WooCommerce order status is processing or completed, so unpaid and failed orders stay out of Shopify.
- To copy only some sales, such as orders shipping to one country, add a Filter on that WooCommerce value right after the trigger.
- Place one test order in WooCommerce after import and compare the Shopify order line by line before you switch the workflow on for real sales.
Questions about this workflow
Will unpaid WooCommerce orders be created in Shopify?
As imported, yes. New Order Created fires when the order is created, which can be before payment. Add a Filter on the order status to copy only paid orders.
Do my products need to exist in Shopify?
That depends on how you map the line items in the Create Order step. Run a test order and look at the Shopify result to see whether items match your Shopify products.
Are refunds or cancellations in WooCommerce copied to Shopify?
No. The workflow only reacts to new orders and only creates orders. Changes after that are not sent to Shopify.
Does this change stock levels in Shopify?
The workflow only creates the order. How Shopify treats stock for that order is down to your Shopify settings, so check inventory after your first test order.
