When a new form is submitted in Webapi.ai, add a new row in Google Sheets
Each form response received in Webapi.ai is written as a new row in the Google Sheets spreadsheet you choose, so the answers people give are kept in one sheet your team can sort and share.

What this workflow does
Responses collected through Webapi.ai are only useful once someone acts on them. If your team tracks leads, requests or sign-ups in a spreadsheet, copying each response across by hand adds delay and mistakes. This workflow adds every Webapi.ai response to that spreadsheet as it comes in.
The Webapi.ai trigger fires when the response of a form is received. The answers in that response become available to map. The Google Sheets step then adds a new row to the spreadsheet and sheet you select, putting each mapped answer in its column.
One response becomes one row, and nothing is checked or removed on the way, so test responses and repeat submissions from the same person are logged too. The step only appends rows. It never changes a row that is already there. Task History records each run, including what Google Sheets returned if a row could not be added.
Lead log for a sales team
Prospects leave their details through Webapi.ai. Each response lands in a shared sheet, where the sales team marks who has been contacted.
Booking or callback requests
Visitors ask for a callback or appointment through the form. The sheet gives staff one list of requests to work through in order.
Customer feedback after a purchase
Customers answer a short feedback form. Their responses build up in Google Sheets, ready to sort, filter or chart.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Webapi.ai New Form SubmissionFires when a form response is received in Webapi.ai. The answers in that response become available to map into the spreadsheet row.
Google Sheets Add New RowAdds a new row to the Google Sheets spreadsheet you choose, holding the Webapi.ai answers you map to each column. Link the Google account that can edit the sheet when you import.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Webapi.ai AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a header row to the sheet first, then submit a test response so FlowMattic captures the Webapi.ai fields and you can map each one to a column.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when an answer you rely on, such as an email field, is not empty, if half-finished responses should stay out of the sheet.
- Add a Date/Time Formatter step before Google Sheets to write the time each response arrived in a format your team reads easily.
Questions about this workflow
Are earlier Webapi.ai responses copied into Google Sheets?
No. Only responses received while the workflow is turned on start a run. Earlier ones are not sent to the sheet.
Does the same person answering twice create two rows?
Yes. The Add New Row step adds a row for every response and does not look for an earlier one from the same person.
Which Webapi.ai answers appear in the sheet?
Only the ones you map to columns in the Google Sheets step. Run a test response to see every field the trigger delivers.
Can I send Webapi.ai responses to a second sheet as well?
Yes. Add another Add New Row step after the first and point it at the other spreadsheet.
