What this workflow does

Marketing forms bring in demo requests, event sign-ups and content downloads, but the answers sit in forms.app until someone thinks to check. A message in the channel the team already reads puts each response in front of them. This workflow posts one for every submission.

The forms.app trigger runs when a new submission is received for the form you connect. FlowMattic then uses the Send Channel Message action in Slack to post to the channel you choose. You write the message and insert the form answers you want the team to see, such as the person's name, email and the option they picked.

There is no Filter, so every response gets a message. For a busy form, that can be a lot of posts. The tips cover narrowing it down, or moving the alerts to a channel set aside for them. Task History lists each submission and the message sent.

Use a Filter after the trigger to post only some responses, for example when a budget or company size answer meets a value you set.
If the alerts should go to a private channel, use Slack's Send Private Channel Message action. Send Direct Message is the option when only one marketer should be pinged.
Put the person's email first in the message text so the team can copy it straight from the Slack notification.

Questions about this workflow

Does every forms.app response post to Slack?

Yes, as imported. The workflow has no Filter, so each submission to the connected form creates a channel message.

Can the marketing team reply to the lead from Slack?

Not directly. The message is a notification. Include the person's email or phone in it so a teammate can contact them from their own tools.

Can I connect more than one forms.app form?

The trigger listens to the form you choose. For a second form, duplicate the workflow and pick that form in the copy, or post both to the same channel.

Will the Slack message show file uploads from the form?

Only what forms.app sends in the submission data. If it includes a file link, you can add it to the message text. Check a test response to see.
