What this workflow does

Ninja Forms stores each submission in WordPress, and that is where it stays unless someone moves the address to your mailing tool. This workflow sends the person straight to Mailchimp instead.

When a visitor submits your Ninja Forms form, the trigger passes all the fields to FlowMattic. The Mailchimp step runs Add New Member, which adds a new member to the list, or updates them if they already exist. You map the email field and any extra fields you want on the member's record, such as a first name.

Since the step updates existing members rather than stopping at them, someone who fills in the form again simply gets their details refreshed in Mailchimp. Ninja Forms keeps its own copy of every submission as usual. Task History lists each run and what Mailchimp sent back, which helps when an address is rejected.

What if the Ninja Forms visitor is already on my Mailchimp list?

Add New Member updates an existing member instead of adding a second copy, so their details are refreshed with what they just submitted.

Does Ninja Forms still save the submission?

Yes. FlowMattic picks up a copy of the entry for Mailchimp and leaves the original alone, so Ninja Forms stores it and sends any emails it is set to send, as before.

Can people from different Ninja Forms forms go to different Mailchimp lists?

Yes, by cloning the workflow once per form. Each copy has its own Ninja Forms trigger and its own Mailchimp step, so you can send each form's sign-ups to a different list.

Are Ninja Forms entries from before the import sent to Mailchimp?

No. Only forms submitted while the workflow is switched on reach Mailchimp. Older entries stay in Ninja Forms, where you can export them if you need them on the list.
