When a new form submission is received in Paperform, add record to Google Sheets
Every new Paperform submission becomes a row in the Google Sheets spreadsheet you choose, so all your form answers sit in one sheet you can sort, share and chart.

What this workflow does
Paperform keeps responses inside its own dashboard, which is fine until a colleague without a login needs them, or you want to add notes, totals and charts next to the answers. This workflow copies each finished submission into a Google Sheet as it arrives, so the spreadsheet stays current without exports.
The Paperform trigger starts a run whenever someone submits an entry on your form, and hands the answers to the next step. The Google Sheets step then adds one new row for that entry.
Both steps arrive without settings, so there is some setup to do. After import you link the trigger to your Paperform form by following its setup in FlowMattic, then connect your Google account, choose the spreadsheet and sheet, and match each answer to a column header. Set up the header row first, so the columns are ready to map.
Each submission adds a row of its own, and nothing is checked or removed along the way: test entries and duplicates land in the sheet as well. Send one test submission after setup and open Task History to see the data Paperform passed and what Google Sheets returned.
Event registrations in a shared sheet
An organiser collects sign-ups on a Paperform page and lets the venue team read the attendee list in Google Sheets without a Paperform login.
Customer feedback you can chart
A product team sends a Paperform survey after onboarding and builds charts in Google Sheets from the rating column as responses come in.
Quote requests your sales team can work through
A contractor's quote form fills a sheet where the sales team adds their own status and follow-up columns beside each request.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Paperform New Form SubmissionStarts the workflow whenever a new entry is submitted on your Paperform form. Link the trigger to your form during setup, then send a test entry so its answers are available to map into the sheet.
Google Sheets Add New RowAdds one new row to the spreadsheet and sheet you choose for each submission. The step ships unmapped: connect Google, pick the sheet, then match each Paperform answer to a column.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Paperform AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a column for the submission date or time and map it from the Paperform data, so you can sort the sheet by when each entry arrived.
- To keep test entries out of the sheet, put a Filter between the Paperform trigger and the Google Sheets step on a field such as the email. The field and value in that Filter are yours to choose.
- If one form collects several kinds of request, add a Router between the trigger and the sheet step with one route per request type, each ending in its own Add New Row on a separate sheet. Use answers that can't both match.
Questions about this workflow
Do partial Paperform submissions show up in the sheet?
No. This template uses the New Form Submission trigger, which fires on finished entries. FlowMattic's Paperform integration also has a separate Partial Submission trigger if you want to capture people who stop midway.
Which Paperform answers go into Google Sheets?
Only the ones you map. The Add New Row step is empty in the template, so you decide which answers fill which columns after import.
Will my older Paperform responses be copied over?
No. Runs begin with the first Paperform entry that arrives after you switch the workflow on. Export earlier responses from Paperform and paste them into the sheet if you want them there.
What happens if someone submits my Paperform twice?
You get two rows. The workflow adds a row for every submission and doesn't look for earlier ones, so remove repeats in Google Sheets or ask respondents to submit once.
