When a new form submission received in Formaloo, add a new row in Google Spreadsheet

Every new Formaloo form submission is added as a row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, with each answer in the column you map, so your team can sort, share and work from the responses.

Formaloo Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 3.4k sites Free to import

The When a new form submission received in Formaloo, add a new row in Google Spreadsheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Formaloo, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Formaloo keeps your responses, but a spreadsheet is often where the rest of the work happens: sharing with people who don't use Formaloo, adding notes, building charts. Exporting responses by hand leaves the sheet out of date between exports. This workflow writes each submission into Google Sheets as it arrives.

The Formaloo trigger fires when a new submission is received. FlowMattic passes each answer to Google Sheets, whose Add New Row action writes one row with the data you map. You decide which answer goes in which column, and you can leave out fields you don't need.

Each submission adds exactly one row, and nothing filters the runs. Responses made before you turn the workflow on stay in Formaloo. If the sheet gets a column added later, map it in the step so new rows fill it. Task History lists every row sent.

Customer feedback surveys

A product team runs a Formaloo satisfaction survey. Responses collect in a Google Sheet where they add a column for follow-up and share it with support.

Volunteer sign-ups

A charity takes volunteer applications in Formaloo. The coordinator plans shifts from the spreadsheet, adding notes next to each applicant's row.

Order or request forms

A small caterer takes event enquiries through a Formaloo form. Each request becomes a row the team works through, with dates and guest numbers in their own columns.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Formaloo New Form Submission

Fires when Formaloo receives a new submission. Each answer is passed on as a value you can place in a column.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Writes a new row into your Google Sheets spreadsheet for the submission. Connect your Google account, pick the sheet, and match each column to a Formaloo answer.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Formaloo AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a column for the submission time and map it, if the Formaloo data includes one, so you can sort the sheet by when each response came in.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when a particular answer matches, if the sheet should hold one kind of response, such as complaints only.
  • Submit a test response after import before mapping the columns, so FlowMattic has real Formaloo answers to choose from.

Questions about this workflow

Will older Formaloo responses be copied to Google Sheets?

No. Only submissions received after you turn the workflow on are added. Export older ones from Formaloo and paste them into the sheet once.

What if I change my Formaloo form later?

New questions won't appear in the sheet until you map them. Send a fresh test submission, add a column, and map the new answer in the Google Sheets step.

Does every Formaloo submission create a row?

Yes, as imported. There is no Filter, so each submission adds one row. Add a Filter after the trigger to keep some out.

Does Formaloo keep the response after it reaches Google Sheets?

Yes. Nothing in this flow edits or deletes Formaloo data. The response stays in Formaloo, and the sheet holds a copy of the answers you mapped.
