When a new submission is received in Typeform, upload the file to Google Drive
When a respondent submits your Typeform with a file attached, this workflow uploads that file to the Google Drive folder you select, so uploads from your forms are stored in your own Drive.

What this workflow does
Forms that ask for a CV, a photo or a signed document leave those files inside Typeform, where they are awkward to share and easy to lose track of. If your team keeps working files in Google Drive, this workflow puts each uploaded file there as the response comes in.
The Typeform trigger runs on every new submission and passes the response, including the file from your upload question, to FlowMattic. The Google Drive Upload a File step then uploads that file to the Drive folder you select. You map the file from the Typeform response into the upload step yourself after import.
The template runs for every submission, so a response that left the upload question empty still reaches the Drive step, which then has no file to upload. You can see how each of those runs ended in Task History. Send a test response with a real file to confirm it lands in the right folder before you rely on it.
CVs from a job application form
Applicants attach a CV in Typeform and each file goes into a Google Drive folder the hiring team already shares.
Photo submissions for a contest
Entrants upload a photo through a Typeform entry form, and the organisers review all the images together in one Drive folder.
Signed documents from clients
Clients return a signed agreement through a Typeform upload question, and the file is stored in the Drive folder for client paperwork.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Typeform New Form SubmissionRuns whenever a respondent completes and submits your Typeform. The response, including the file from any upload question, is passed on to the Drive step.
Google Drive Upload a FilePuts the respondent's file into whichever Drive folder you pick. Map the file from the Typeform response into this step and connect your Google account on import.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Typeform AccountAccount
- Google Drive AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the upload answer is not empty, so responses without a file stop before the Google Drive step.
- Add a Slack or Gmail step after the upload to tell your team a new file has arrived, including the respondent's name from the Typeform answers.
- If your form has several upload questions, add one Google Drive step per question and map each file separately.
Questions about this workflow
Does my Typeform need a file upload question for this to work?
Yes. The Google Drive step uploads the file that comes with the response, so the form must ask for one. Without it there is nothing to upload.
Which Google Drive folder do the Typeform files go to?
The folder you select in the Upload a File step. Every file from this workflow goes to that folder unless you add more steps.
What happens when a Typeform respondent skips the upload?
The workflow still runs and the Drive step has no file to upload, so Task History shows that run's response from Google Drive. Add a Filter if you want those runs to stop earlier.
Are files from older Typeform responses uploaded too?
No. Only responses submitted after you turn on the workflow reach Google Drive. Download older files from Typeform yourself.
