When a new submission received in Contact Form 7, check if the email is valid with Bounceless, and create a user in WordPress
Each Contact Form 7 submission has its email address checked by Bounceless, and then FlowMattic creates a WordPress user from the form details, giving you a verification result to act on before accounts pile up.

What this workflow does
Some sites use a plain Contact Form 7 form as a registration form, for a members area, a client portal or a download library. Creating each WordPress account by hand is slow, and fake or mistyped addresses end up as users nobody can reach. This workflow creates the account for you and runs an email check first.
When a visitor submits the Contact Form 7 form, FlowMattic sends the email address to Bounceless with the Verify Email action. The result comes back as data you can map. The next step uses the WordPress New User action to create a user on the same site from the submitted details.
Read this before you import. As shipped, there is no Filter between the check and the account, so every submission becomes a WordPress user, whatever Bounceless says. If you want accounts only for addresses that pass, add a Filter between the Bounceless step and the WordPress step. Also note that creating a user starts FlowMattic's WordPress New User trigger, if any other workflow on your site uses it.
Members area sign-up
A community site uses a Contact Form 7 form to register members. Each submission becomes a WordPress user, and a Filter on the Bounceless result keeps junk addresses out.
Client portal access requests
A design studio lets clients request portal access through Contact Form 7, then reviews the Bounceless result for each new account in Task History.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Contact Form 7 New Form SubmissionStarts each time your registration form built with Contact Form 7 is sent. The email address and other fields are made available to the Bounceless and WordPress steps.
Bounceless Verify EmailPasses the address from the Contact Form 7 entry to Bounceless and gets a verification result back. Connect your Bounceless account and map the form's email field. Later steps can use the result, but nothing in the template acts on it.
WordPress New UserUses WordPress New User to register the submitter as a site user, after the Bounceless check has run. Map the email address and any name details you collect, then run a test to see which other user settings the step lets you set.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Contact Form 7 PluginPlugin
- Bounceless AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter between Bounceless and WordPress that continues only when the result marks the address as valid, so failed checks never become WordPress accounts.
- Make the email field required in Contact Form 7 with the email* tag, so every submission carries an address for Bounceless to check.
- Send two test submissions after import, one with a real address and one made up, to capture the values Bounceless returns before you build the Filter.
Questions about this workflow
If Bounceless marks an address invalid, is the WordPress user still created?
Not as imported. The check runs, but nothing reads its result, so every Contact Form 7 submission creates a user. Add a Filter between the Bounceless step and the WordPress step to change that.
What happens when a returning visitor submits the Contact Form 7 form with an email that already has an account?
WordPress won't register that email twice. The New User step returns the ID of the account the returning visitor already has, and Task History shows it. A role set in the step would be added to their account.
Do I need anything besides Contact Form 7 and a Bounceless account?
Contact Form 7 must run on the same WordPress site as FlowMattic, because the new user is created on that site. You connect a Bounceless account for the verification.
How do I control the role of accounts made from Contact Form 7 entries?
Run a test and open the New User step to see what it lets you set. If you don't choose a role there, check the new account in your Users screen to confirm what it received.
