What this workflow does
A personal image, like a welcome card or a badge with the subscriber's name, takes time to make one by one. DocsFold fills a template you design with data you send it. This workflow asks it for one each time someone new joins your Mailchimp audience.
The Mailchimp trigger fires when a new subscriber is added. The subscriber's details are passed on. The DocsFold step then generates an image, using the subscriber data you map into it.
As imported, the workflow stops after the image is generated. It does not send the image to the subscriber or save it anywhere else. To use it, add a step after DocsFold that takes the image from its response, such as an email or a row in a sheet. Run a test to see what DocsFold returns.
Welcome card for a newsletter
An image with the subscriber's name is generated for each new sign-up. Add an email step after it to deliver the card.
Member badge for a community
New subscribers to a community list get a badge image they can share, once you add a step that delivers it.
Image library for social thank-you posts
Generate an image per subscriber, and add a Google Sheets step to keep a list of the image links for your social team.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Mailchimp New SubscriberRuns when a new subscriber is added to your Mailchimp audience. The subscriber's details are passed to the DocsFold step for mapping, once you link the Mailchimp account that owns the audience.
DocsFold Generate ImageGenerates an image in DocsFold from the subscriber data you map into it. Connect your DocsFold account and run a test to see the image it returns.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Mailchimp AccountAccount
- DocsFold AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Gmail or other email step after DocsFold that sends the image link to the subscriber, if DocsFold returns one.
- Design the template in DocsFold before mapping, so you know which subscriber details each image needs.
- Subscribe a test address in Mailchimp after import so FlowMattic captures the subscriber fields.
Questions about this workflow
Does the DocsFold image get emailed to the Mailchimp subscriber?
Not as imported. Generating the DocsFold image is the last thing that happens. Add an email step after DocsFold to send it.
Do I need a DocsFold template ready?
Yes. DocsFold builds images from templates, so set one up in your DocsFold account before you map the step.
Are images made for subscribers I already have in Mailchimp?
No. Only subscribers added after the workflow is turned on start a run.
Does every new Mailchimp subscriber get an image?
Yes, as imported. Add a Filter after the trigger if only some subscribers should get one.
