When File Created in Nifty PM, Add New Row in Google Sheets
Every file created in Nifty PM is added as a new row in your Google Sheets spreadsheet, so you get a running, sortable list of project files outside Nifty.

What this workflow does
Files pile up quickly across projects in Nifty PM: briefs, designs, contracts and exports. When you need to see what was added this month, or share a list with someone who doesn't use Nifty, a spreadsheet is easier to work with. This workflow writes one row per new file into Google Sheets as the files appear.
The Nifty PM trigger is File Created, which FlowMattic describes as firing when a new file is created. The data Nifty sends about that file is passed to the next step for mapping.
The Google Sheets step records each file on a fresh row of your spreadsheet. It ships unmapped, so after import you connect your Google account, choose the spreadsheet and sheet, and match the Nifty values to your column headers. Set up the headers first, for example file name, project, uploader and date, then run a test upload and check Task History to see which values Nifty sent.
Each new file means one new row. Files that are later edited or removed in Nifty don't change the sheet, because only the File Created event is used. Nifty PM has separate file updated and file removed triggers in FlowMattic if you want to log those too.
Monthly file report for clients
An agency filters the sheet by project and month to show a client every deliverable uploaded to their Nifty PM project.
Asset register for a design team
A design lead keeps a Google Sheet of every file added in Nifty, with columns for project and uploader, to find older work quickly.
Audit trail for contract documents
An operations manager has a dated record of each contract or signed form added to Nifty PM projects, kept in a sheet the finance team can open.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Nifty PM File CreatedFires when a new file is created in Nifty PM. The details Nifty sends about the file are passed on, ready to map into your spreadsheet columns.
Google Sheets Add New RowWrites a single row into the Google Sheets spreadsheet you pick for each new Nifty file. Nothing is mapped yet: connect Google, choose the sheet and match Nifty values to your headers.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Nifty PM AccountAccount
- Google Sheets AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add your column headers to the sheet before you configure the Google Sheets step, so each header appears as a field to map.
- Include a date column and map the time the file was created, if the trigger sends one, so you can sort the log by month.
- Import a second copy of the workflow on Nifty PM's File Removed trigger, writing to another tab, if you also want a record of deleted files.
Questions about this workflow
Which details about each Nifty PM file end up in the sheet?
Only the ones you map. The Add New Row step ships empty, so you choose the columns and pick values from a test run of the Nifty PM trigger.
Does editing a file in Nifty PM add another row?
No. The workflow uses File Created only, so later edits don't start a run. Nifty PM has a separate File Updated trigger in FlowMattic if you want edits logged.
Are files that already exist in Nifty PM added when I turn this on?
No. Only files created after the workflow is active are logged. Add older ones to the sheet by hand if you need a complete list.
