The When New Campaign Entries in Sociamonials, Remove Subscriber from MailPoet list workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Sociamonials, MailPoet
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

When you promote a contest or giveaway by email, the people who have already entered keep getting the same invitations. This workflow takes entrants off the invitation list in MailPoet as soon as they enter on Sociamonials.

The Sociamonials trigger starts a run whenever someone enters one of your Sociamonials campaigns. FlowMattic passes the entrant's details to MailPoet, where Remove Subscriber From List(s) takes an existing subscriber off the lists you pick. You map the entrant's email, and a test run shows whether MailPoet finds the subscriber from it.

The action only works on people who are already MailPoet subscribers. An entrant who isn't on your lists has nothing to remove, and Task History shows MailPoet's response for that run. The entry must also carry an email address, so the Sociamonials campaign has to collect one. Check a test entry before you rely on it.

Stop contest reminders after entry

You email your MailPoet list about a Sociamonials giveaway. Each subscriber who enters drops off the reminder list, so later reminders reach only people who haven't entered.

Clean up a launch waitlist

Subscribers on a waitlist are invited to a Sociamonials sign-up campaign. Entering removes them from the waitlist in MailPoet, leaving only those still to respond.

Survey follow-ups

A Sociamonials campaign collects feedback from your newsletter readers. Respondents leave the follow-up list, so the second email goes only to people who haven't answered.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Sociamonials New Campaign Entries

Runs for every Sociamonials campaign entry as it arrives. The entrant's details, including the email if the campaign collects one, are passed to MailPoet.

  2. Step 2Action
    MailPoet Remove Subscriber From List(s)

Removes an existing MailPoet subscriber from the list or lists you choose. Map the entrant's email from Sociamonials and pick the lists, then test with an address already on them.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Sociamonials AccountAccount
  • MailPoet PluginPlugin

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Make sure the Sociamonials campaign asks for an email address. Without one in the entry, MailPoet has no way to find the subscriber.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only for the campaign tied to this list, matched on a campaign value the entry carries, if you run several Sociamonials campaigns at once.
  • Add a MailPoet Add Subscriber to List(s) step after the removal to move entrants onto a separate list, such as Entered, for your thank-you email.

Questions about this workflow

What happens if a Sociamonials entrant isn't a MailPoet subscriber?

The action works on existing subscribers only, so there is nobody to remove. Task History shows MailPoet's response, and nothing else changes.

Does this unsubscribe the person from all my MailPoet emails?

No. It removes them from the lists you choose in the step. They stay subscribed to any other MailPoet lists.

Does every Sociamonials campaign run this workflow?

As imported, every new campaign entry the trigger receives runs it. Add a Filter after the trigger to limit it to one campaign.

Do I need MailPoet on the same site as FlowMattic?

Yes. MailPoet is a WordPress plugin, so it must run on the site where FlowMattic is installed.
