When new form submission is received in FormCrafts, create customer in SureCart

When a FormCrafts form gets a new submission, FlowMattic creates a customer in your SureCart store from the details the person entered, so they’re set up before they buy.

The When new form submission is received in FormCrafts, create customer in SureCart workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across FormCrafts, Surecart
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Some stores take an enquiry, application or registration before the first sale. If that form lives in FormCrafts and the store runs on SureCart, you end up typing names and emails into SureCart by hand. This workflow creates the SureCart customer for you.

The FormCrafts trigger, New Submission Received, fires when a new submission arrives. FlowMattic then runs Create Customer in SureCart, which creates a new customer from the fields you map, such as the email and name.

The action creates customers. It is not described as matching existing ones, so a person who submits again may end up with a second customer, or SureCart may refuse the repeat. Test with an email that's already a customer and read the response in Task History before you rely on it.

Wholesale account applications

Trade buyers apply through a FormCrafts form, and each applicant becomes a SureCart customer you can later sell to at trade terms.

Course or membership waiting lists

People who join a waiting list in FormCrafts are created as SureCart customers, ready for the day enrolment opens.

Custom order enquiries

Shoppers who ask for a custom product through FormCrafts become SureCart customers, so you can attach the eventual order to the right person.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    FormCrafts New Submission Received

Fires when a new submission is received in FormCrafts. Every answer in the submission is passed on for mapping in the SureCart step.

  2. Step 2Action
    Surecart Create Customer

Adds the person to SureCart as a customer. Map the email and name from the FormCrafts answers, connect your SureCart store, and check the result of a test in Task History.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • FormCrafts AccountAccount
  • SureCart AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Make the email question required in FormCrafts, so SureCart always receives an address for the new customer.
  • If only one of your FormCrafts forms should create customers, add a Filter after the trigger that checks the form name or ID from a test submission.
  • Before you turn it on, submit twice with the same email and look at Task History to see how SureCart handles a repeat customer.

Questions about this workflow

Does a FormCrafts submission create an order in SureCart?

No. It only creates a customer record. The person still buys through your SureCart checkout, or you create the order yourself.

What if the FormCrafts submitter is already a SureCart customer?

Create Customer is a create action, so a repeat email may add another customer or be rejected. Task History shows what SureCart returned. Test this case before you rely on the workflow.

Can I update an existing SureCart customer instead?

Not as imported. The catalog lists SureCart Find Customer By Email and Update Customer actions, so you could build a version that looks the person up first. Test it on a known customer before switching.
