Verify the email of each new OpenRead lead with Bounceless and add them to Campaign Monitor

Every lead captured by OpenRead.io has their email checked with Bounceless, then is added as a subscriber to your Campaign Monitor list, with the check result available in the run.

OpenRead.io Bounceless Campaign Monitor

3 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.5k sites Free to import

The Verify the email of each new OpenRead lead with Bounceless and add them to Campaign Monitor workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across OpenRead.io, Bounceless, Campaign Monitor
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Lead magnets attract a few typos and throwaway addresses. Knowing which ones are bad before you email them helps keep your Campaign Monitor list tidy. This workflow runs each new OpenRead.io lead through Bounceless and then subscribes them, so the verification and the sign-up happen in the same run.

The OpenRead.io trigger fires when a new lead is captured, and passes the lead's details, such as the email and name, to FlowMattic.

The Bounceless Verify Email step checks that address and returns a result. Nothing in the template acts on it yet: every lead goes on to the Campaign Monitor Add Subscriber step, valid or not. Use Task History to see the fields Bounceless returns, then decide whether to add a Filter on them.

The OpenRead.io, Bounceless and Campaign Monitor steps come with no fields mapped. After import you connect each account, map the lead's email into Bounceless, and choose the Campaign Monitor list and map the email and name there. Each new OpenRead.io lead uses one verification and adds one subscriber.

Ebook opt-ins with a verification record

A marketer offering a free guide through OpenRead.io sees in each run whether Bounceless rated the address deliverable before the lead joined the Campaign Monitor list.

Webinar sign-ups with an audit trail

A coach's OpenRead.io funnel feeds a Campaign Monitor list for webinar reminders, and when a reminder bounces, the coach opens that lead's run to see what Bounceless said at sign-up.

Spotting fake sign-ups

An agency reviews Task History after a giveaway funnel and notices a run of addresses Bounceless flagged, then tightens the OpenRead.io form.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    OpenRead.io Capture New Lead

Fires when OpenRead.io captures a new lead from your funnel or lead magnet. The lead's email and name are passed on for checking and subscribing.

  2. Step 2Action
    Bounceless Verify Email

Sends the lead's email to Bounceless and returns its verification result. After import, map in the address the OpenRead.io lead gave. As imported, no step uses the result.

  3. Step 3Action
    Campaign Monitor Add Subscriber

Adds the lead to the Campaign Monitor list you pick, whatever Bounceless returned. Connect your account, choose the list and map the OpenRead.io email and name.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • OpenRead.io AccountAccount
  • Bounceless AccountAccount
  • Campaign Monitor AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • To subscribe only valid addresses, put a Filter between the Bounceless step and the Campaign Monitor step that checks the verification result. Take the field and the value from a test run.
  • Keep the Bounceless step even if you don't filter yet: the results in Task History show how many of your OpenRead.io leads give bad addresses, which tells you whether a Filter is worth adding.
  • Send a test lead with a known bad address to see what Bounceless returns before you set up the Filter condition.

Questions about this workflow

Are invalid OpenRead.io leads kept off my Campaign Monitor list?

Not as imported. Every lead is added after the check, whatever the result. Add a Filter between the Bounceless and Campaign Monitor steps on the result field to keep invalid ones out.

Where do I see the Bounceless result for a lead?

In Task History. Open a run to see the email that was checked and what Bounceless returned, and pick the field you would check in a Filter placed between Bounceless and Campaign Monitor.

Does each OpenRead.io lead use a Bounceless check?

Yes. Every captured lead runs the Verify Email step once, so your Bounceless usage grows with your lead count.

An excellent replacement to Zapier with unlimited tasks and full control over data. Customer service is fantastic! Have had hands-on support from owner who is ultra helpful and they have even been integrating new SAAS options continuously.

Brad

It's an exceptional product. Works great and extremely valuable. I saved thousands of dollard on Zapier, as Flowmattic makes me able to host the automation myself. And very deeply integrates with the products I need.
