3 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 1.6k sites Free to import

The When new lead captured in OpenRead, check if the email is valid with VerifyBee, and add a new subscriber in Campaign Monitor workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 3 steps across OpenRead.io, VerifyBee, Campaign Monitor
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Lead magnets built in OpenRead.io bring in names and email addresses, and some of those addresses are mistyped or fake. Checking them before they reach your email list helps you see what you are importing. This workflow runs each new lead's email through VerifyBee, then adds the lead to Campaign Monitor.

The OpenRead.io trigger fires when a new lead is captured, passing the lead's name and email on. The VerifyBee step then checks the email address and returns its verdict.

The last step adds the lead as a subscriber to a Campaign Monitor list. Be aware that, as imported, nothing acts on the VerifyBee result: every lead continues to Campaign Monitor whatever VerifyBee says. If you only want valid addresses on the list, add a Filter between the VerifyBee step and the Campaign Monitor step, as the tips describe.

None of the three steps has mapping yet. After import you map the lead's email into VerifyBee, then pick your Campaign Monitor list and map the email and name into Add Subscriber. Run a test lead and open Task History to see what VerifyBee returned.

Ebook downloads to a newsletter

A marketer offers an ebook through OpenRead.io and adds each reader to a Campaign Monitor newsletter list, with VerifyBee's verdict on every address recorded in Task History.

Cleaner lists after a Filter

A course creator adds a Filter on the VerifyBee result so only addresses VerifyBee marks as valid join the welcome list.

Auditing lead quality

A small agency reviews the VerifyBee results for a week of OpenRead.io leads before deciding whether to filter them.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    OpenRead.io Capture New Lead

Fires when OpenRead.io captures a new lead from your lead magnet or funnel. The lead's details, such as name and email, are passed to VerifyBee and Campaign Monitor.

  2. Step 2Action
    VerifyBee Verify Email

Checks the lead's email address with VerifyBee and returns the result. The step ships unmapped, so map the email from OpenRead.io. No later step in the template reads that result.

  3. Step 3Action
    Campaign Monitor Add Subscriber

Adds the lead as a new subscriber to your Campaign Monitor list. After import, choose your list and map the OpenRead.io email and name. As imported, every lead reaches this step.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • OpenRead.io AccountAccount
  • VerifyBee AccountAccount
  • Campaign Monitor AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Put a Filter between the VerifyBee step and the Campaign Monitor step that continues only when VerifyBee's result is valid. Run a test first to see the field name and value VerifyBee returns.
  • Map the lead magnet's name into a Campaign Monitor custom field, if your list has one, so you know which OpenRead.io offer each subscriber came from.
  • Use a separate Campaign Monitor list for OpenRead.io leads, so you can send them a welcome series about the resource they downloaded.

Questions about this workflow

Does VerifyBee stop bad OpenRead.io emails from reaching Campaign Monitor?

Not as imported. VerifyBee checks every address, but nothing stops a lead with a bad result. Add a Filter on the VerifyBee result between that step and Add Subscriber.

Where can I see the VerifyBee result for each OpenRead.io lead?

In Task History. Each run shows what VerifyBee returned for the lead's email, and you can map that result into a Campaign Monitor custom field if you want it on the subscriber.

What happens when an OpenRead.io lead is already subscribed in Campaign Monitor?

How an existing address is treated is up to Campaign Monitor. Test with a known subscriber's email and check the response in Task History.
