When task completed in Taskade, record it in Google Sheet

Whenever a task is completed in Taskade, this workflow adds a row about it to a Google Sheets spreadsheet, giving you a dated record of finished work that you can sort, total and share.

The When task completed in Taskade, record it in Google Sheet workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Taskade, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Taskade is where your team plans and ticks off work, but a finished task disappears from view once it is checked. If you need to report what got done, bill for it or look back over a month, you want those completions somewhere you can sort and count. This workflow writes each one to a spreadsheet.

The Taskade Task Completed trigger fires when a task is marked complete. FlowMattic passes the task's data to Google Sheets, and Add New Row appends a row to the sheet you choose. You map the task details into the columns, along with anything else you want on the record.

Every completion adds a fresh row; earlier rows are left alone. A task that is reopened and checked off again may add a second row. Each run appears in Task History, so you can see what was logged.

Weekly done list for a team meeting

Open the sheet before your weekly meeting and filter by date to show every Taskade task the team completed since last time.

Freelancer logging billable work

Each Taskade task you finish for a client becomes a row, which you can total by client column when you prepare an invoice.

Client reporting from a shared sheet

Share a view of the spreadsheet with a client so they can see completed Taskade tasks without being invited into your workspace.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Taskade Task Completed

Runs when a task is completed in Taskade. The completed task's details are passed to the next step so you can map them into columns.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Adds a row to the Google Sheets spreadsheet you select for each completed Taskade task. Connect your Google account and map the task details to your column headers.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Taskade AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Complete a test task in Taskade after import so FlowMattic captures real task data, then finish mapping the Google Sheets columns and check the new row.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger if only tasks from one project or one assignee should be logged, using a field you see in the test run.
  • Keep a date column in the sheet and map the completion data into it, so you can filter the log by week or month later.

Questions about this workflow

Does every completed Taskade task get logged?

Yes, as imported. There is no Filter, so each completion that fires the trigger adds one row to the sheet.

Are tasks I completed in Taskade before importing included?

No. The trigger reacts to completions that happen while the workflow is on. Earlier finished tasks are not copied.

Can I log new Taskade tasks too, not just completed ones?

Set up a separate workflow for that. FlowMattic's Taskade app also has a Task Added trigger that you can pair with its own Google Sheets step, ideally writing to a separate sheet.
