What this workflow does

New members of a coworking space need the same information in their first weeks: door codes, house rules, how to book rooms, the events calendar. Sending it by hand means someone has to notice each new person in OfficeRnD. This workflow puts every new member into Mailchimp, where your onboarding emails can go out.

The OfficeRnD trigger fires when a new member is added. The member's details become values you can map. The Mailchimp step runs Add New Member, which adds the person to the audience you pick, or updates them if their address is already in it.

The workflow doesn't send any email itself. The onboarding emails come from a Mailchimp automation or journey you build to start when someone joins that audience, or from a tag you use to start one. Set that up in Mailchimp before you turn this workflow on. Task History shows each member sent and the reply from Mailchimp.

Add a Filter after the OfficeRnD trigger that continues only when the member's email isn't empty, so members created without an address don't reach Mailchimp.
If your space has more than one location, add a Filter on the member's location so only members of one site join this onboarding audience.

No. It adds the member to your Mailchimp audience. The emails come from a Mailchimp automation you set up to start when people join that audience.

What if the OfficeRnD member is already in the Mailchimp audience?

Add New Member updates the existing record instead of adding a copy. Whether your welcome automation runs again for them depends on how you set it up in Mailchimp.

Do members need to confirm their Mailchimp subscription?

That depends on your Mailchimp audience settings and how the step is set up. Check a test member in Mailchimp to see whether they show as subscribed or pending.

Are existing OfficeRnD members added when I turn this on?
