Add a row to Google Sheets when a new Bigin contact is created

Every new contact created in Bigin by Zoho is added as a row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, so you have a copy of your CRM contacts you can sort, share and report on.

Bigin by Zoho Google Sheets

2 steps Setup ~5 min Used on 577 sites Free to import

The Add a row to Google Sheets when a new Bigin contact is created workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Bigin by Zoho, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Bigin keeps your contacts tidy for selling, but the people around you may not have a Bigin seat. A bookkeeper, a partner or a marketing freelancer often just needs a list. This workflow copies each new contact into a Google Sheet as it is created, so that list stays current without exports.

The Bigin by Zoho New Contact trigger fires when a contact is created and passes that contact's fields on. The Google Sheets Add New Row step then writes one row to the sheet you choose.

The sheet step isn't mapped in the template. After import you connect Google, pick the spreadsheet and tab, and match Bigin values to your column headers, such as the contact's name, email, phone and company. Make one test contact in Bigin first, so you can see which fields arrive.

Only new contacts are copied. If someone edits a contact in Bigin later, the row in the sheet keeps the values it had when it was added. Contacts that existed before you turn the workflow on aren't copied either. Task History shows each run and the row Google Sheets added.

Contact list for people outside the CRM

A small agency shares a read-only Google Sheet of new Bigin contacts with its freelance designers, who need names and companies but not CRM access.

Weekly lead-source report

A founder maps the contact's source into a column and builds a chart in Sheets showing where new Bigin contacts came from each week.

Backup of contacts as they arrive

A sales team keeps a running spreadsheet copy of every contact created in Bigin, alongside the CRM, for its own records.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Bigin by Zoho New Contact

Fires when a new contact is created in Bigin by Zoho. The contact's details, such as name, email, phone and company, are passed on to the sheet step.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Adds one row per new Bigin contact to the spreadsheet you pick. The template leaves the columns unmapped, so connect Google Sheets, choose the tab and map the contact fields you want.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Bigin by Zoho AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a column for the date and map the current date into it, so you can filter the sheet by the week each contact was created.
  • Map the Bigin contact ID into its own column. It lets you match a row back to the CRM record later.
  • Leave out personal fields your sheet's readers don't need, such as phone numbers, when the spreadsheet is shared outside the sales team.

Questions about this workflow

Do edits to a Bigin contact change its row in Google Sheets?

No. The workflow only runs when a contact is created. Later changes in Bigin stay in Bigin, and the row keeps the values from the moment it was added.

Will my existing Bigin contacts be copied into the sheet?

No. The trigger reacts to contacts made once the workflow is active, not to older ones. Export your current contacts from Bigin once and paste them in if you want a full list.

Which Bigin fields can go into the spreadsheet?

Any field the New Contact trigger sends. Create a test contact after import, then pick from the trigger's output when you map the Google Sheets columns.

Can contacts go to different Google Sheets tabs?

Not as imported; there is one Add New Row step. Put a Router between the Bigin trigger and the sheet step, with a separate Add New Row on each route and conditions that can't both match.
