What this workflow does

If you sell access to your Voxel directory through a WooCommerce product, someone has to switch the buyer to the plan they paid for. Doing that by hand means checking each order, finding the member and changing their plan. Here, the plan switch is part of each new order instead.

The WooCommerce trigger fires when a new order is created on your store. The order data, including the customer and the items bought, becomes available to map. FlowMattic then runs the Voxel Change Membership Plan action, which changes the membership plan of a user. You map the buyer from the order and choose the plan they should move to.

As imported, there is no check on which product was bought or whether payment went through. Every new order runs the Voxel step. If your store sells other products, or uses payment methods that leave orders pending, read the tips before you turn it on. Task History logs each run, so you can see which orders changed a plan and spot any step that returned an error.

Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the order's line items include your membership product. Orders for anything else then leave Voxel plans alone.
Swap the trigger for WooCommerce Order Paid or Product Purchased if you want the plan to change only once payment completes or only for one specific product.
Selling more than one plan? Use a Router with one route per product, each with its own Change Membership Plan step set to the matching plan.

Questions about this workflow

Does the Voxel plan change before the WooCommerce payment is confirmed?

It can. New Order Created fires when the order is created, and some payment methods create the order before payment completes. Use the Order Paid trigger or a Filter on order status if that matters to you.

What happens with a WooCommerce guest checkout?

A guest order is not linked to a WordPress account, so there may be no Voxel user for the step to change. Require an account at checkout, or test a guest order and check Task History for the result.

Will every WooCommerce order change a member's plan?

Yes, as imported. There is no product check, so each new order runs the Voxel step. Add a Filter on the line items to limit it to your membership product.

Can a buyer move to different Voxel plans depending on the product?

Not with the single Voxel step shipped here, which applies the plan you set. Add a Router with a route per product and a Change Membership Plan step on each.
