Create a ClickUp task to follow up when a new Polly response is created

Each time someone answers a Polly survey, this workflow opens a ClickUp task for the follow-up, so every response has a place in your team’s task list instead of sitting unread in a results view.

The Create a ClickUp task to follow up when a new Polly response is created workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Polly, ClickUp
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Survey answers are easy to collect and easy to forget. Someone reads the results once, means to act on a comment, and the comment slips away. This workflow turns each new Polly response into a ClickUp task, so the follow-up sits in the same place as the rest of your team's work.

The Polly trigger fires when a response is created. FlowMattic receives the response data and hands it to ClickUp, where the Create Task action adds a new task. You decide what the task says by mapping parts of the response into it, and a test run shows which response fields Polly sends.

There is no Filter in the template, so every response produces one task. That suits short surveys where each answer deserves a look. If you only want tasks for some answers, add a Filter after the trigger. Task History keeps a record of each run, with the data Polly sent and what ClickUp returned.

Customer feedback survey

Each reply to a post-purchase Polly survey becomes a ClickUp task, so a support lead can read it, reply if needed and close the task when done.

Internal team pulse check

A manager runs a weekly Polly check-in. Every response lands as a ClickUp task, which makes it simple to note concerns and track what was done about them.

Event follow-up questions

Attendees answer a Polly survey after a session. Each response appears in ClickUp, where the organiser assigns the questions that need an answer.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Polly Response Created

Starts the workflow each time Polly records a new response. The response data is captured and passed to ClickUp for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    ClickUp Create Task

Creates a new task in ClickUp for each response, with response data mapped into it. You link your ClickUp account when you import the template.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Polly AccountAccount
  • ClickUp AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Add a Filter after the Polly trigger so a task is created only when an answer matches a value you care about, such as a low rating or a particular choice.
  • Include the answer itself in the text you map into the task, so whoever opens the ClickUp list sees what the respondent said without going back to Polly.
  • After import, submit a test answer to your Polly survey. The response fields are then captured and you can map them in the ClickUp step.

Questions about this workflow

Does every Polly response create a ClickUp task?

Yes, as imported. There is no condition between the trigger and ClickUp, so each new response produces one task. A Filter step after the trigger cuts that down to the answers you choose.

Are Polly responses from before the import added to ClickUp?

No. The trigger fires on responses created after the workflow is turned on. Earlier responses stay in Polly.

What if the ClickUp step fails for a response?

Task History shows the run with the error on the ClickUp step and what ClickUp returned, so you can fix the mapping and add the task by hand.

Can the Polly response also be logged in a spreadsheet?

Yes. Add a Google Sheets step after ClickUp and map the same response data into a new row.
