What this workflow does
Rocketlane runs customer onboarding projects, while other teams in your company may plan their week in Monday.com. When a new onboarding starts, those teams often learn about it late, after someone remembers to add it to the board. This workflow adds the item as soon as the project exists.
The Rocketlane trigger is Project Created. It fires when a project is created there. FlowMattic passes the project's data to Monday.com, where Create Item adds a new item to a board. You map Rocketlane values, such as the project name or customer, into the item.
The flow runs once per new project. Status changes, new phases or tasks inside Rocketlane are not copied to Monday.com, so treat the item as a starting point that your team keeps up to date there. Task History lists each run and the response from Monday.com.
Finance sees new onboardings
The finance team tracks billing set-up on a Monday.com board. Each new Rocketlane project appears there, ready for them to add the invoice details.
Implementation capacity board
Delivery managers plan staffing in Monday.com. A new item for each Rocketlane project shows how many onboardings started this month.
Sales hand-off check
Sales leaders keep a Monday.com board of closed deals. The Rocketlane project item confirms that onboarding has been opened for each customer.

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Put the Rocketlane project name in the item name so people can match the two records when they need more detail.
- Add a Filter after the trigger if only some project types belong on the board, for example projects using one onboarding template.
- Add a Slack or email step after Monday.com to tell the board's owner that a new onboarding item has been added.
Questions about this workflow
Does a change in Rocketlane update the Monday.com item?
No. The workflow runs on Project Created only and creates one item. Later changes in Rocketlane stay there.
Which Rocketlane project details can go into the Monday.com item?
The values Rocketlane sends with the new project. Create a test project after import and check what is captured before you map columns.
Will existing Rocketlane projects be added to Monday.com?
No. Only projects created after the workflow is on produce items. Add older ones to the board by hand.
Can a new Rocketlane project create items on two Monday.com boards?
Yes. Add a second Create Item step after the first one and point it at the other board.
