Create a Stripe customer record when a new Juspay order is created
Each order created in Juspay adds a new customer in Stripe from the order’s details, so people who order through Juspay also exist in Stripe for later invoices or subscriptions.

What this workflow does
Businesses that take payments through Juspay sometimes bill through Stripe as well, for subscriptions, invoices or a second region. Keeping customers in both means copying names and emails across, and the copies drift. This workflow creates the Stripe customer when the Juspay order appears.
The Juspay trigger fires when an order is created. FlowMattic then runs Create Customer in Stripe, using the order data you map, such as the customer's email or phone if Juspay includes them on the order. Check a test run to see which customer details your orders actually carry.
Two things to know before you turn it on. First, the trigger is order creation, which comes before payment, so orders that later fail still create a customer. Second, the Stripe step always creates a new customer. A person who orders twice ends up with two Stripe customers, because nothing in the template looks for an existing one. The tips show how to change both.
Subscriptions billed in Stripe
A software seller takes the first payment with Juspay in India, then bills renewals through Stripe. The Stripe customer is ready when you set up the plan.
Invoices for business buyers
Some Juspay buyers later need a formal invoice. With a Stripe customer already in place, your finance team can raise one without retyping contact details.
One customer list across two gateways
You run Juspay for domestic orders and Stripe for international ones, and want every buyer visible in your Stripe dashboard.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Juspay Order CreatedFires when an order is created in Juspay. The order data, including any customer details Juspay attaches, is passed on for the Stripe step.
Stripe Create CustomerAdds the Juspay buyer to Stripe as a fresh customer record. Map the Juspay order fields you want on the customer, such as email and phone, and connect your Stripe account on import.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Juspay AccountAccount
- Stripe AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- To add only paying customers, switch the trigger to Juspay's Order Succeeded event, so orders that never get paid don't reach Stripe.
- If your Juspay orders carry an email, place Stripe's Find Customer by Email step before Create Customer, then a Filter that continues only when no customer was found. Repeat buyers then don't get a second Stripe customer.
- Map the Juspay order ID into a description or note on the customer, if the Stripe step offers one, so you can trace each customer back to their first order.
Questions about this workflow
Does a repeat Juspay buyer create a second Stripe customer?
Yes, as imported. Create Customer always adds a new one. Add Stripe's Find Customer by Email step and a Filter before it to skip people who already exist.
Are unpaid Juspay orders sent to Stripe?
Yes. The trigger fires when the order is created, before payment. Swap it for Juspay's Order Succeeded trigger if only paid orders should create a customer.
Will the Juspay buyer be billed by Stripe?
No. It creates a customer record only. No payment method, subscription or charge is added.
What if a Juspay order has no email?
Stripe can still create the customer, but it will lack that detail. Check a test order to see which fields your Juspay orders include before relying on the email.
