Create a Todoist task to follow up on a new Gainsight feature match
When Gainsight records a feature match event, this workflow creates a task in Todoist, so the person who follows up on product usage has a to-do waiting instead of a report to check.

What this workflow does
Gainsight can tell you when a user's activity matches a feature you are watching. That signal only helps if someone acts on it, and dashboards are easy to ignore. This workflow turns each feature match into a task in the to-do list your team already works from.
The Gainsight trigger fires for a feature match event and passes its data to FlowMattic. The next step runs Create Task in Todoist, and you map the event's details into the task so it says which user and which feature it is about.
There is no filter in the template, so every feature match event creates its own task. If your feature is used often, that can mean a lot of tasks. A Filter placed right after the Gainsight step keeps only the matches you want. Task History lists every run with the Gainsight data that arrived and the task sent to Todoist.
Customer success check-ins
When an account starts using a feature tied to expansion, a Todoist task reminds the customer success manager to reach out.
Gathering feedback on a new release
Product managers get a task whenever a user's activity matches a newly launched feature, so they can ask that user for early feedback.
Sales follow-up on trial usage
A trial user reaches a feature that signals buying interest. A task lands in the sales rep's Todoist with the user's details.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Gainsight Feature MatchRuns for each feature match event Gainsight sends. The event data, such as which user and feature matched, is passed on for mapping into the task.
Todoist Create TaskCreates a task in Todoist from the Gainsight event. Map the user and feature details into the task text, and run a test to see what else the action accepts.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Gainsight AccountAccount
- Todoist AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the Gainsight trigger that continues only for the feature you care about most, so Todoist is not filled with tasks for every match.
- Put the user's name or account in the task title so each Todoist task is clear at a glance without opening it.
- Add a Delay before the Todoist step if you want the follow-up to appear a day or two after the feature match rather than straight away.
Questions about this workflow
Will every Gainsight feature match create a Todoist task?
Yes, as imported. Each feature match event starts its own run. Add a Filter after the trigger if you only want tasks for some features or accounts.
What Gainsight data can go into the Todoist task?
Whatever the feature match event includes. Trigger a test match after import and look at the captured data to see what you can map.
Can the Todoist task be assigned to the right account owner?
Not as imported. One Todoist step creates every task the same way. Use a Router with routes for distinct accounts or features if different people should get them.
