What this workflow does

Some forms are really requests for a picture: a custom illustration idea, a mood-board brief, a product concept. This workflow takes what a visitor types into a Fluent Forms form, asks OpenAI to draw it, and emails the result, with no one on your side in between.

When the Fluent Forms trigger receives a new submission, its fields are available to build a prompt. The OpenAI Generate Image (DALL-E) step creates an image from that prompt using a DALL-E 2 or DALL-E 3 model. The last step sends an email from your Gmail account with the generated image attached, to the visitor's address or to your own.

You write the prompt yourself in the OpenAI step, mixing fixed wording with form answers so the style stays consistent. Every submission creates one image and sends one email, and each image request runs on your OpenAI API account. Use a test run to confirm how the image from the OpenAI step is passed into the Gmail attachment.

Add a Filter after the trigger that continues only when the description field is not empty, so OpenAI is never asked to draw a blank prompt.
Keep a fixed style sentence at the start of the prompt, such as flat illustration on a white background, and add the visitor's words after it.
Add a Google Sheets step at the end to log each prompt with the email it went to, so you can review what people asked for.

Who receives the OpenAI image by Gmail?

The recipient you set in the Gmail step. Map the email field from the Fluent Forms submission to send it to the visitor, or enter a fixed address to send it to yourself.

Do I need an OpenAI API key for this Fluent Forms workflow?

Yes. The Generate Image step runs through the OpenAI account you connect in FlowMattic, and image generation is billed to that account by OpenAI.

Can visitors control the whole OpenAI prompt?

Only as much as you allow. You write the prompt in the OpenAI step and decide which form answers go into it.

What if OpenAI rejects a prompt?

The OpenAI step returns an error and Task History shows it on that step. The Gmail step still runs, so add a Filter on the OpenAI result if you don't want an email without an image.
