Create Mailchimp subscribers from new booking in BookingPress
Every new BookingPress appointment adds the customer to your Mailchimp audience, or updates their member details if they are already subscribed, so clients who book are on your list.

What this workflow does
People who book an appointment have already shown interest in what you offer, yet their details usually stay inside the booking plugin. This workflow moves each BookingPress customer into Mailchimp, where you can include them in newsletters and campaigns.
The BookingPress trigger fires when a new appointment is booked, whether the customer books on the front end or you add it from the admin. FlowMattic then maps the customer's email and name into the Mailchimp Add New Member step. That action adds them to the audience you pick, and if the address is already a member it updates the record instead.
Each appointment runs the workflow, so a regular client who books five times is sent to Mailchimp five times and simply updated after the first. BookingPress runs on your WordPress site, so the booking data starts there; only the Mailchimp step sends it out. Task History records what was sent on each run.
Salon or spa client newsletter
Clients who book a treatment in BookingPress join the Mailchimp audience you use for seasonal offers and opening-hour changes.
Consultants building a mailing list
A coach or consultant adds everyone who books a discovery call to Mailchimp, so they can send helpful content between sessions.
Clinic reminder campaigns
A clinic collects BookingPress patients in a Mailchimp audience and sends them general check-up reminders through its own campaigns.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
BookingPress Appointment BookedRuns when a new appointment is booked in BookingPress, from the front end or the backend. The customer and appointment details are passed on for mapping.
Mailchimp Add New MemberAdds the customer to the Mailchimp audience you choose, or updates them if their email is already a member. Map the email and name fields from the BookingPress appointment.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- BookingPress PluginPlugin
- Mailchimp AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add a Filter after the trigger so only bookings for certain services send people to Mailchimp, if the appointment data includes the service name.
- Ask for marketing consent on your booking form and add a Filter that continues only when it is given before the Mailchimp step.
- Book a test appointment after import so FlowMattic captures the BookingPress fields, then map the customer email in the Mailchimp step.
Questions about this workflow
Does a BookingPress appointment added from the admin also run it?
Yes. The trigger fires for new appointments booked on the front end or created in the backend, so both send the customer to Mailchimp.
What if the BookingPress customer is already in my Mailchimp audience?
Add New Member updates an existing member rather than adding a duplicate, so their details are refreshed on each new booking.
Does this send Mailchimp emails to the customer?
Not by itself. It only adds or updates the member. Any welcome email depends on automations or campaigns you set up in Mailchimp.
Are past BookingPress appointments copied to Mailchimp?
No. Only appointments booked after you turn the workflow on reach Mailchimp. Earlier customers need a separate import.
