Create new contact in FluentCRM when payment is successfully completed in Paddle
Every successful Paddle payment sends the buyer to FluentCRM, which creates a contact for a new email address or updates the existing contact, so your WordPress CRM holds the people who pay you.

What this workflow does
Paddle takes the money, but your follow-up emails, tags and segments live in FluentCRM on your WordPress site. Without a link between them, buyers only reach your CRM when you export them from Paddle. This workflow adds each paying customer to FluentCRM as their payment succeeds.
The Paddle trigger fires on a successful payment and hands FlowMattic the payment and customer data. Next, FluentCRM looks the buyer up by email address through its Create or Update Contact action. A new address becomes a new contact. An address FluentCRM already knows updates that contact instead.
Since the trigger is any successful payment, a repeat buyer runs the workflow again with each purchase. Their contact is updated rather than duplicated. The contact is stored in your own WordPress database, and you can review each run, with the data that reached FluentCRM, in Task History.
Thank-you sequence for digital product buyers
Each buyer of your ebook or template pack sold through Paddle becomes a FluentCRM contact you can add to a post-purchase email sequence.
Customer segment for a software vendor
Keep paying Paddle customers in FluentCRM so announcements about new versions go to people who bought, separately from free subscribers.
One record for buyers and subscribers
Someone who joined your newsletter and later pays through Paddle is matched by email, so FluentCRM keeps a single contact for them.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Paddle Payment SuccessFires each time Paddle reports a successful payment. The customer and payment data from Paddle is made available to the FluentCRM step for mapping.
FluentCRM Create or Update ContactCreates a FluentCRM contact for the buyer, or updates the contact that already has that email address. Map the Paddle customer email to the contact email and add any name fields Paddle sends.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- Paddle AccountAccount
- FluentCRM PluginPlugin
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Make one test purchase in Paddle after import so FlowMattic captures the payment data, then map the email and name fields in the FluentCRM step before turning the workflow on.
- Add a FluentCRM Add Tags to Contact step after this one with a tag such as Customer, so you can build segments and automations around Paddle buyers.
- Selling several products? Add a Filter after the trigger on a product field from the Paddle data, as a test run shows it, so only buyers of one product reach FluentCRM.
Questions about this workflow
What happens when a returning Paddle customer pays again?
The workflow runs again. FluentCRM matches the email address to the existing contact and updates it, so no second contact is made.
Can Paddle buyers go to FluentCRM on a different WordPress site?
Not with this step as it ships. FluentCRM is a WordPress plugin, and the FlowMattic step works with the FluentCRM installed on the same site as FlowMattic.
Will failed or refunded Paddle payments add contacts?
Failed payments do not fire the trigger, which only reacts to successful payments. A refund issued later does not remove the contact the workflow already created.
Are past Paddle buyers imported into FluentCRM?
No. Only payments that succeed after you turn the workflow on are sent. Earlier customers need a separate export and import.
