What this workflow does
Posting something to a Facebook Page every day takes time, and finding a fresh picture each morning is often the slowest part. This workflow hands the picture to OpenAI and the posting to FlowMattic, on a schedule you set.
The Schedule trigger starts a run once a day at the time you pick. Next, OpenAI runs Generate Image (DALL-E), which per FlowMattic's catalog creates an image from a prompt using the DALL-E 2 or DALL-E 3 models. You write that prompt after import.
The last step, on Facebook Pages, is Create a Post with Photos. You map the image that OpenAI returns into the post and add the text that should go with it. The post goes live on the Page you connect, with no review in between.
The prompt stays the same every day unless you change it, so the images share a theme even though each one is newly generated. Read the tips for ways to vary the prompt or approve each image before it is posted.
Daily mood image for a cafe Page
A prompt describing coffee scenes in your cafe's style gives the Page a new morning picture, so the feed stays active on quiet days.
Quote-of-the-day backgrounds
A coaching Page posts an abstract calm background each day, with the day's message written in the post text.
Seasonal theme for a hobby group
A gardening Page uses a prompt about plants in season and updates it each month, so the daily images follow the year.
How this workflow runs
What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.
Schedule Every DayStarts the workflow once each day. Set the time it runs after import, so the post appears when your audience is most likely to see it.
OpenAI (ChatGPT) Generate Image (DALL-E)Asks OpenAI to create an image with DALL-E from the prompt you write. Connect your OpenAI account; the generated image is passed to the Facebook step.
Facebook Pages Create a Post with PhotosPublishes a photo post on your Facebook Page. Map the image from the OpenAI step into the post, add the caption text and connect the Page you manage.
What you need
- FlowMatticCore
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) AccountAccount
- Facebook Pages AccountAccount
After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.
Make it yours
Changes worth making after you import it.
- Add an Ask Chat GPT step before the image step that writes a fresh image idea each day, then map its reply into the DALL-E prompt so the pictures vary.
- Want to approve each image first? Add a Human in the Loop step before the Facebook step and set its timeout action to End Workflow, so nothing is posted without your OK.
- Use a second Ask Chat GPT step to write the caption from the same idea, then map that reply into the Facebook post text.
Questions about this workflow
Will OpenAI create a different image every day?
Each run generates a new image, but from the same prompt unless you change it. Add a step that varies the prompt if you want more variety.
Can I check the image before it goes on my Facebook Page?
Not as imported; the post is published straight away. Add a Human in the Loop step before the Facebook step and set its timeout action to End Workflow.
Do I need an OpenAI API account?
Yes. The image step runs through your own OpenAI account, which you connect on import. Image generation is billed by OpenAI to that account.
Can it post more or less often than daily?
Yes. Change the Schedule trigger to another interval, such as every week, and the image and post steps follow that timing.
