Log each new Chartink alert to a Google Sheets trading journal

Every Chartink alert that reaches FlowMattic is written as a new row in a Google Sheets trading journal, so you have a record of each screener signal to review later.

Chartink Google Sheets

The Log each new Chartink alert to a Google Sheets trading journal workflow on the FlowMattic canvas, with 2 steps across Chartink, Google Sheets
The workflow as it appears in the builder after import. Each step opens for editing.

What this workflow does

Screener alerts arrive fast and are easy to lose in a notification feed. When you want to look back at which signals fired, on which stocks and when, you need them written down somewhere. This workflow keeps that record in a spreadsheet for you.

The Chartink trigger fires on a new alert for the scan you set it up with. FlowMattic receives the alert data and passes it to Google Sheets, where the Add New Row step writes it into your journal sheet. You choose which alert values go into which columns.

The journal only records alerts. It does not place trades, and it does not judge whether a signal was good; that review is yours, in the sheet. Every alert that reaches the workflow becomes a row, and Task History lets you check what arrived from Chartink on each run.

Reviewing a breakout scan

You run a breakout screener during market hours. At the end of the week you sort the journal by stock to see which names alerted most often.

Adding your own notes to signals

Each alert lands in a row, and you add columns for whether you took the trade and why, building a journal you actually fill in.

Comparing two strategies

Two Chartink scans feed two copies of this workflow, each writing to its own worksheet, so you can compare how often each one fires.

How this workflow runs

What happens at each step once the workflow is on, and what you need before you import it.

  1. Step 1Trigger
    Chartink New Alert

Runs when Chartink sends a new alert for the scan you connected. The alert's data is passed on to the Google Sheets step for mapping.

  2. Step 2Action
    Google Sheets Add New Row

Writes the alert into a new row of your trading journal spreadsheet. Connect your Google account, pick the sheet and map alert values to its columns.

What you need

  • FlowMatticCore
  • Chartink AccountAccount
  • Google Sheets AccountAccount

After importing, map your own data. To keep the template universal, not every step is pre-filled. Open each step in the builder and connect your accounts and fields (channels, lists, sheets, recipients) before you switch the workflow on.

Make it yours

Changes worth making after you import it.

  • Trigger a test alert after import so FlowMattic captures the fields Chartink sends, then map them to your journal columns.
  • Add a Slack Send Direct Message step after Google Sheets if you also want each alert pushed to you in Slack as it is logged.
  • Add a Filter after the trigger to log only alerts for stocks in a watchlist, by checking the stock value against the names you care about.

Questions about this workflow

Does this workflow place trades from Chartink alerts?

No. It only writes each alert to Google Sheets, and no order reaches any broker or trading account.

What Chartink alert details end up in the journal?

Whatever the alert carries when it reaches FlowMattic. Check a test run in Task History to see the values before you set up columns.

Can one workflow log several Chartink scans?

Alerts from every scan that sends to this trigger share one sheet. To keep scans apart, import a copy per scan and point each copy at its own worksheet.
